🌍✨ Exciting Developments in Compact Atomic Gravimetry! Nomad Atomics and Fraunhofer IZM are collaborating to develop a compact atomic gravimeter, funded by the IBB ProFit program in partnership with the European Union. Using cold atoms and atom interferometry, we’re integrating key optical components into a lightweight system for applications like drone-based gravitational field measurements. We're proud to be at the forefront of quantum technology advancements, thanks to the support of the European Union's ProFit program. A big thank you to our partners at Fraunhofer IZM for their expertise and collaboration! #Project #News 💡The goal of the project is to develop a compact atomic gravimeter. The measurement principle is based on atom interferometry, using #cold #atoms. Nomad Atomics can realize such gravimeters on a laboratory scale, but systems are needed that can measure #gravitational fields, for example, from a #drone. To achieve a compact and lightweight system, a large part of the #optical #components and an Rb gas cell are to be integrated onto and within a #glass #platform. The project is being coordinated by Nomad Atomics and is being carried out in collaboration with Fraunhofer IZM.
