The Gosford Regional Library project celebrated the Topping Out Ceremony alongside Central Coast Council Mayor Lawrie McKinna, Dr Gordon Reid MP, and Central Coast Councillors last week. The completion of the third suspended, and final, floor slab marks a significant milestone in the construction of this important project for Gosford, and the Central Coast.  This four-level, state-of-the-art facility will transform Gosford’s CBD, providing innovative spaces for learning, collaboration, and community connection. With community at its core, the new Windale Hub in Lake Macquarie provides an innovative, family-friendly environment for all ages to learn, create, and connect. Building on our strong partnership with Lake Macquarie City Council, North was engaged to demolish the existing community centre and library, constructing a new state-of-the-art facility that includes a striking full elevation perforated mesh screen façade, providing both aesthetic street-appeal and functional shading. Designed by Adriano Pupilli Architects, Windale Hub blends local culture and nature, revitalising the area and creating an inspiring space for the community. The project also included a new car park and landscaping. Completed in August 2024, the Hub offers flexible spaces, contemporary library services, and multi-purpose community facilities. Year 10 students from across the Central Coast have put their entrepreneurial skills to the test through the annual North Challenge, developing business plans to tackle one of the region’s most pressing issues: the housing crisis. Supported by mentors from North, each team crafted solutions that balanced innovation with real-world construction insights. Special recognition goes to Brisbane Water Secondary College - Woy Woy, the winners of the 2024 North Challenge, who had the opportunity to present their ideas at the Housing Summit—a testament to their hard work and dedication.
