About us

Northline is an experienced Australian-based, global logistics business with an industry-leading national network and an international reach into more than 100 countries. We were founded in 1983 to service remote communities in Northern Australia and these early challenges shaped Northline and helped establish our values, build trust and form valuable partnerships that still exist to this day. Today, we provide a global, personalised service that connects our customers with their customers right across the world. Our international network transports, stores, tracks and delivers freight, by road, rail, sea and air across the globe and seamlessly connects into our national network, and modern operating facilities. We have 18 depots across Australia with the ability and flexibility to tailor solutions to meet our customers’ requirements and evolving market demands, including scaling up to add further capacity as needed. Investments in new, market leading technologies mean that Northline customers can track their freight every step of the way, knowing that with us it’s in safe hands. While we recognise the value of technology, we place the highest value on providing a personalised service. Our customers are supported by an Australian-based Customer Service Centre, internal and external sales executives, key account managers and skilled teams of domestic and international logistics coordinators to ensure customers’ end to end service requirements are met. From start-ups to blue-chip customers, the freight we’re transporting is helping to build the global economy in sectors ranging from renewable energy and medical technologies, to wine production, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), pharmaceuticals and retail. • Previously, we have covered steps 1 through 3 of the supply chain process, explaining how your goods travel into Australia and what happens before they are transported to their final destination. The last stage of the supply chain process, arguably the most crucial, is the delivery of goods to the endpoint. Even the most carefully manufactured goods can lose value if they don’t reach their end destination in time. A knowledgeable and reliable supply chain partner is vital. They will have optimised delivery routes to ensure efficiency and will be able to select the most appropriate transportation modes based on the freight for cost-effective deliveries. Northline’s extensive national network reaches the furthest corners of Australia, so you can rely on us to deliver. Our services combine the best individual components of a national network across road, rail, sea, and air into solutions that meet the individual needs of our customers. Furthermore, Northline's Track app offers customers visibility throughout the journey and an estimated time of arrival, ensuring peace of mind every step of the way. • We’re excited to announce that Northline has partnered with Explore Careers Australia, Australia’s leading Careers and Employment platform for secondary schools. This collaboration is another step toward diversifying our future talent pool while reducing reliance on traditional recruitment channels like Seek. Our early success with the traineeship program has shown us the importance of engaging with schools, particularly those close to our depots, to establish Northline as an attractive future employer. Proximity to home is often a key factor in job choice, and by targeting local students and school leavers, we aim to attract candidates who live nearby - enhancing retention and fostering stronger connections within our communities. Explore Careers has an extensive reach, linking over 250 employers and industry groups with career advisors, teachers, and parents to support 1.8 million students. Since 2009, they have successfully connected over 1.5 million students with promising career paths. Through this partnership, Northline gains a powerful presence on the Explore Careers platform, providing us with a range of tools to showcase our opportunities, including profile features, podcast interviews, webinars, e-marketing campaigns, and tailored job promotions. Our Explore Careers profile will help us attract school leavers up to age 23, making this partnership a valuable channel for potential traineeships and roles such as forklift operators, storepersons, and customer service representatives. Here are some of the key opportunities Northline is promoting through this initiative: - Job Opportunities for Students - School Leaver Traineeships - Permanent Roles for School Leavers - University Graduate Positions To find out more, visit: https://lnkd.in/gXF7VyC2 We look forward to seeing the positive impact of this partnership as we connect with our next generation of talent. #careerdevelopment #traineeships #recruitment #transport #logistics

  • Those who were on the roads between Melbourne, VIC and Singleton, NSW would have had a jumbo surprise as a life-sized taxidermy African Elephant was transported to a private property. The elephant, born in 1962 was a resident at Taronga Western Plains Zoo before it passed away in 2000. "Congo" had been living with the taxidermist up until it sparked the interest of a collector. The elephant's "feet were on the ground" and it was unveiled to the buyer and added to their collection. #freight #logistics #transport

  • The global economic outlook focuses on decreasing inflation, easing monetary policies, and achieving a soft landing. There were record-high new containership deliveries this year (2.5 mTEU delivered, 0.5 mTEU scheduled). Despite Golden Week Holiday seeing a slight increase in idling, the idle fleet is unusually low for this time of the year. Freight rates have dropped during the past three months from their peak in July but look to be picking up again post-Golden Week. Carriers plan to implement rate hikes throughout November, but the sustainability of higher rates is uncertain. The US East Coast Port strike ended on 3 October, allowing operations to return to normal.
