Yesterday afternoon, our team, including Interim CEO Andrew Warrender IAP, welcomed over 50 of the region’s most prominent travel agents and travel network representatives for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the progress of our international terminal. This sneak peek led by Josh Fullerton and Paul Malone, combined with a briefing on the growing opportunities for Hunter travellers to fly internationally and domestically from Newcastle Airport, was a fantastic way to build excitement. It was also a great opportunity for our team to share our passion for what’s to come and the impact it will have on the region. The next few months will be pivotal as we prepare the industry and get ready to open our doors in August. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, engaged in the conversation, and celebrated this milestone with us! Newcastle Airport has just cemented its place as a sustainability champion, becoming the first airport in Australia to achieve the prestigious Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) Level 4+ Transition! That's right, we're talking about reaching the top 12% of airports worldwide when it comes to reducing our environmental footprint. For those not fluent in 'sustainability speak', this ACA 4+ Transition is a HUGE deal. Run by the Airports Council International (ACI), the ACA is the only globally recognised program for airports committed to managing and slashing their carbon emissions. Some of the key milestones include: - Smashing our targets: Achieved Net Zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions six years ahead of schedule, in 2024! - Powering up with renewables: Partnering with an Aussie renewable energy retailer to run entirely on clean energy. - Offsetting our footprint: Investing in local native bushland regeneration projects to offset remaining emissions. - Building green: Our new international terminal has already been awarded a 5-Star Green Star 'Designed' assessment. - Embracing EVs: Supporting the uptake of electric vehicles by installing EV charging bays for passengers. - Sustainable financing: Securing a $235 million Green Sustainability Linked Loan from CommBank. A future made in the Hunter, taking off sustainably. It’s been a HUGE year for Newcastle Airport, with our international terminal expansion really taking shape. We held our Topping Out Ceremony back in October, and if you’re travelling through the Airport this summer, you’ll notice the impressive glass façade, cladding and eves that are now in place. By the end of January, we'll be sealed and watertight - another major construction milestone. Join us in taking a look back at an amazing 2024, as we bid a fond farewell to our outgoing CEO Dr Peter Cock. What an incredible journey, and we can’t wait to take the Hunter international in 2025! #NewyWay #ntlairport | Andrew Warrender IAP, Jude Munro AO, Ben Kochanski, Burcak Sezer

It was fantastic to share the progress of our International Terminal Upgrade during a visit from the board of Destination Sydney Surrounds North (DSSN). This year, we’ve worked closely with DSSN to support the rapidly developing Hunter Region tourism marketing strategy. Our Newcastle Airport team is energised by what’s ahead – driving international visitation, which will showcase everything our beautiful region has to offer and provide a significant boost to our economy. We're equally excited about our ongoing partnership with DSSN and their incredible team! We can't wait for what we'll all achieve in 2025. #NewcastleAirport #HunterRegion #TourismGrowth #InternationalTerminal #RegionalPartnerships #AFutureMadeInTheHunter #WorldClassAmbitions #FutureFocused Ben Kochanski Josh Fullerton Jonathon Hedditch Paul Malone Mathew Edwards Burcak Sezer Glenn Caldwell Peter Cock Andrew Warrender IAP Dylan Parker

Check out our most recent timelapse! 🏗️ The structural steel columns and roof beams are now complete, a milestone we celebrated with a Topping Out Ceremony- a highlight of the year 🎉 Works on the glass façade are well underway, bringing in natural light while providing thermal and acoustic benefits. The exterior is on track to be nearly finished by Christmas, and inside, spaces for international processing- including passport control and customs- are beginning to take form. We’re counting down to our August 2025 opening and can’t wait to share more updates as we progress. Stay tuned! ✈️ #NewcastleAirport #AFutureMadeInTheHunter #WorldClassAmbitions #RegionalGrowth #Innovation #Aviation #HunterRegion #FutureFocused #NewyWay Peter Cock Andrew Warrender IAP Ben Kochanski Josh Fullerton Jonathon Hedditch Mathew Edwards Paul Malone Burcak Sezer
