About us
Nuffield Australia awards scholarships agriculturalists to travel the globe, studying a topic of interest to themselves and of importance to industry. The program includes six weeks of group travel through the global powerhouses of agriculture, including countries such as China, India, Brazil, USA, Canada and through Europe. Scholars then travel for a further ten weeks on individual study, to research topic of interest to them and of value to industry. Importantly, they then become part of a powerful alumni network with scholars from right around the world. Nuffield Australia's mission is to develop potential and promote excellence in all aspects of Australian agricultural production, distribution and management through the adoption of local and international best practice, and continuous development of a unique network of industry leaders and innovators.

🌼 Australia Pollinator Week 🌼 We’re celebrating the essential role of pollinators, and our 2023 Nuffield Scholar Jackie Morrison is leading the way! Supported by AgriFutures Australia, Jackie—a beekeeper and beef producer from NSW’s Northern Rivers—has focused her research on Integrated Pest Management to combat the Varroa destructor mite. At the 2024 Nuffield Conference, Jackie presented on global advances in bee pest management. Her work aligns with the Australian Honey Bee Industry Council’s goal of a sustainable, chemical-residue-free industry. Alongside her husband Luke at Honeyvale Farm, Jackie produces honey, beeswax, and pollination services, with plans to expand into pecans and bush tucker.
