It is a little bit quiet here as we are enjoying a summer break. ☀️🍹 However - we've got many exciting plans for next year. 🤩 🙌 💙 One little hint is that we will be offering more opportunities for students to get involved in the world of ocean entrepreneurship and innovation! 🚀 Check out the post from one of our board members Henriette Maitland at the INNOVOCEAN conference for some info about inspiring entrepreneurs in our field! Enjoy the end of the year break - we look forward to seeing you next year!

INNOVOCEAN - What an incredible day with the Ocean Impact Organisation!! 💙 For the afternoon, the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney transformed into a true Ocean Innovation Heaven (or Deep Sea if you will 😉). It was such a great experience to meet so many passionate Ocean Entrepreneurs. For me, the highlight was most definitely the pitches from the current OIO accelerator cohort (AQUIT, Blue Carbon, Ocean Intelligence, Pinpoint Earth, Washbox Global) and from the UQ Ventures Industry Challenge winners HexaRoot. These amazing entrepreneurs are demonstrating the waves we can make in the ocean space through innovation 🌊. Furthermore, the program included a goosebump inducing presentation by Laura Clarke introducing the documentary about seabed mining "Challenging the Deep", a hopeful presentation by James Bradley about his book "Deep Water", and a great expert panel on the future of the sustainable Ocean Economy in Australia. Thank you Tim Silverwood, Nick Chiarelli, Elisa-Marie Dumas, Sarah Bertin, Amelia Heldt, and all others involved for putting on this amazing event!
