Repeat breast cancer surgeries can be physically and emotionally draining. This US study highlights how important it is to get it right the first time. Using Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs), researchers assessed how re-excisions and tissue removal affected breast satisfaction and wellbeing for patients over three years following surgery. Their findings are clear: minimising re-excisions and reducing the volume of healthy tissue removed are vital for improving patient outcomes, both physically and psychologically. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎗💗 Did you know? ▶︎ 20,973 Australians are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024.    ▶︎ 1 in 7 Australian women will face a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.  ▶︎ While these statistics are concerning, there is hope - 89 out of every 100 women diagnosed with invasive breast cancer now survive five or more years beyond diagnosis. This October, OncoRes Medical joins the global community in recognising Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We stand in solidarity with all those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.    We believe in the power of innovation to transform healthcare. 📺 9 News     OncoRes Medical CEO, Dr Katharine Giles, was recently featured on 9 News, in a segment outlining the Western Australian Government's plans to establish a biomedical precinct in Perth.     Dr Giles expressed her support of the plans, launched by Minister Stephen Dawson, which will repurpose a CSIRO site in Perth’s western suburbs in a boost to the local biomedical sector. Earlier this month, the OncoRes Medical team had the privilege of presenting Breast Cancer Care WA with a fundraising donation of $4820.
