ADHD - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder 🤔Did you know that around 1 in 20 Australians, over a million people, live with ADHD? This includes approximately 281,200 children and adolescents (aged 0-19) and 533,300 adults (aged 20+). The underlying 'trend' hasn't changed significantly over the past 10 years as eminent Professor and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Dave Coghill informed a sellout audience at Oqea's free community seminar and expert panel Q&A event "Flourishing with ADHD: Insights, Support & Solutions" held at Scotch College, Perth. Professor Coghill provided the audience with a detailed overview of his nationally acclaimed adolescent ADHD research, covering: 💡Trends in ADHD prescribing across Australia 💡The need for improved screening approaches for ADHD in Australia 💡The importance of good quality psychoeducation as a part of the ADHD care pathway 💡The use of measurement-based care to improve ADHD outcomes The Q&A panel of experts was moderated by Lorraine Powell (Lived Experience savant) and included: Dr Kyle Hoath (Director Oqea, Consulting Psychiatrists and Vice President AMA WA) Dr Tim Leahy (General Practitioner, ADHD WA Professional Advisory Body) Eimear Quigley (Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Services Manager Oqea Cares) Phoebe Wilson (Lived Experience Expert and Lecturer) Using Mentimeter, our research Manager Dr Valeska Berg, was able to facilitate the seamless gathering of 124 questions posed by the audience which Oqea will distil into specific categories and our panel will respond to and we'll share with our members.
