The College's Careers Services Team is dedicated to providing our students with diverse opportunities to explore various career pathways. In week 9 of Term 3, 74 Year 9 students participated in a Career Taster event with Mindflight7. This wonderful experience allowed the students to explore potential career options within the STEM fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics using Virtual Reality Technology. Students engaged in various hands-on career-related activities, including open-heart surgery, animal dissection, forklift operation, hairdressing, and even a professional fishing simulator. These immersive experiences helped ignite curiosity and enthusiasm in the students, encouraging them to explore future career possibilities. Yesterday, our Year 10 students had a fantastic time at the South West Careers Expo hosted by Bunbury Catholic College. It was an excellent opportunity for them to engage directly with a variety of educational institutions, training organisations, and industry representatives. The Expo's main goal is to help our students explore potential career paths and gain valuable insights into their future options. This visit is a crucial part of our Year 10 Career Education program, geared towards providing students with the necessary information to make informed decisions about their Year 11 subject selections. Our students were extremely happy with the vast amount of career resources available to them. It was also wonderful to see Laughlan Davies, a Class of 2023 alumni, representing the WA Police Cadets Program at the event. We thank the team from BCC for organising this highly beneficial community event.

Our Year 12 Certificate in Outdoor Rec students just wrapped up an amazing three-day Kayak camp. They stayed at Molloy Island and explored the waters of the Blackwood River as well as the ocean through kayaking. Today, they topped it off with a visit to the beautiful Hamlin Bay! With perfect weather and Augusta's stunning backdrop, we can't think of a better way to spend time with friends and learn new skills.
