Culture isn’t just a "nice to have"; it’s the backbone of success, touching every aspect of your organisation. So, what is culture? In the words of organisational culture expert Michael Henderson: “What it means to be human around here.” I love this definition because it captures the essence of culture in its simplest, most relatable form Here are my top 3 tips for fostering a culture that supports successful transitions: 1️⃣ Design it with purpose: A culture will form, whether you shape it or not. So, build it intentionally, aligning it with your Purpose and Vision. 2️⃣ Live it daily: Culture thrives on daily, deliberate effort. Embody it, keep it vibrant, and hold each other accountable. 3️⃣ Align strategy with culture: Culture is 8x more powerful on a company's performance than strategy alone—make sure they’re working hand-in-hand. He argues that modern technology, social media, and multitasking are eroding our ability to concentrate, emphasizing the need for deeper focus and societal change to reclaim our attention. Whether you have kids or not, the book is a must read.
