Wind turbines at Tropicana are spinning for the first time! Two of our four 6MW Goldwind turbines have been successfully commissioned and are now delivering power to AngloGold Ashanti Australia’s and Regis Resources Ltd’s Tropicana gold mine. The 12MW of wind power joins our 24MW solar farm and 13MW grid-stabilising battery system, which both came online in September and have been helping to power operations ever since. The renewable energy expansion is set to slash the power station’s annual diesel and gas consumption by 96% and 50% respectively, reducing the mine’s carbon emissions by around 65,000 tonnes each year. The last two wind turbines are expected to be commissioned and fully operational in the next couple of months. #renewableenergy #windpower #wind #energytransition #fossilfuelfree #fuellingthefuture

✨ We’ve done it! We’re National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) Excellence Award winners ✨ We’re so proud of our team for taking out the national Green Energy Excellence Award at NECA’s prestigious awards ceremony in Melbourne last night. We were awarded the prize for our four build-own-operate hybrid power systems at Westgold Resources Limited’s Mid West operations. This innovative project replaced six diesel-powered systems with four solar-BESS-LNG systems (each with hydrocarbons-off capabilities), which are expected to offset 38 million litres of diesel each year and lower annual carbon emissions by almost 57,000 tonnes. The NECA awards bestow the industry's highest accolades in recognition of outstanding achievements across the electrical and comms industry nationally. These awards showcase some of the industry’s most sophisticated projects, which meant we were up against some fierce competition. A big congratulations to all of the national finalists and winners for this worthy recognition! #NECAAwards2024 #neca #electricalindustry #greenenergy #energytransition #winners

We were honoured to be nominated for the Project of the Year Award at the Engineers Australia's Excellence Awards in Brisbane last night. While our work on the CSIRO Hydrogen Refuelling Station didn’t take out the national title this time, we’re thrilled to have been recognised for our contribution to advancing critical infrastructure for hydrogen-powered transport. This follows our win for Victorian Project of the Year in September, which celebrated the innovation behind the project as Australia’s first all-in-one fast hydrogen refuelling station. A huge thank you to our incredible team who delivered the groundbreaking facility. We couldn’t be prouder of what you've achieved. We would also like to express our gratitude to our equipment partners PDC Machines, LLC and Ivys Inc. for their support in delivering this station. And, of course, a big thank you to our project partners CSIRO and Swinburne University of Technology VH2 for having the vision to make this facility a reality. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with you! #PacificEnergy #EngineersAustralia #HydrogenRefuelling #GreenHydrogen #CleanEnergy #ZeroEmissions #FutureOfTransport #Sustainability #Innovation #HydrogenEconomy #Decarbonisation

A CSIRO-driven hydrogen refuelling station is bringing Australia one step closer to integrating hydrogen-powered transport. “Green hydrogen will play a crucial role in the energy transition and decarbonisation of the road transport industry,” said Deepak Mistry, Principal Applications Engineer – Hydrogen at Pacific Energy, which was responsible for designing and installing the facility. “Transport is the third largest contributor to emissions in Australia. As per Australia’s National Hydrogen Strategy 2024, it is believed that green hydrogen can reduce emissions by up to 186 million t of carbon dioxide per year by 2050.” https://brnw.ch/21wOLkR

Recently we deployed one of our very own locally designed and manufactured Rapid Deploy Stand-Alone Power Systems (RD-SPS) at Northern Star Resources Limited's Carosue Dam mine site.     This modular system, featuring the latest solar PV technology and batteries, is now powering the on-site amenities for our solar farm project team, including the office, crib room, bathroom, and general lighting, replacing all diesel-based power generation.     Switching from a diesel generator to this solar-powered unit will offset an average of 1,746 litres of diesel per month.      Powering mine site and construction facilities is just one of the many ways our RD-SPS can be used, and we’re proud to be using our own innovation to decarbonise our project operations.     #energytransition #netzero #australianmade #renewableenergy

Having pursued music, visual arts and cinematography for 10 years, Tyler decided to make the leap and kickstart a career change. “It was the right time, right place – I was looking for a change and stability. At a meeting for my band, my friend, an engineer at Pacific Energy, suggested I give the company and the renewable sector a go.” Tyler has been with Pacific Energy for three and a half years, working as an apprentice electrician. He says one of the most defining aspects of his career at the company has been the good heart of the people he works with. “I’ve worked in some companies where it’s every man for themselves, but here everyone on my team is on board to achieve one goal.” Despite the major industry pivot, Tyler says he still gets to utilise his creative skills and background. “Having an arts background helps me solve problems creatively. In research and development, it takes that kind of thinking to make something new from scratch.” We’re always looking for open minds like Tyler’s, which bring great knowledge and skills from any industry background to the renewable energy sector. All six solar-and-BESS integrations for Horizon Power and its Mid West Solar Project are now supplying renewable energy to the towns! We’ve wrapped up works on Norseman’s 758kW solar farm and 336kWh BESS, bringing the combined renewable energy capacity for all six systems to over 2,000kW of solar and 4,300kWh of BESS. So far, the systems – located in Cue, Sandstone, Yalgoo, Meekatharra, Wiluna and Norseman – have generated more than 1.8 million kilowatt hours of solar energy between January and November this year. That’s equivalent to powering around 280 average Australian family homes for the same 10-month period using 100% renewable energy! We’re really proud to partner with Horizon Power and the WA State Government on this and other important renewable energy projects that are helping to decarbonise WA’s regional power supplies. The milestones keep on coming! We’ve successfully completed the first hydrocarbons off (HOFF) testing for our hybrid power system at AngloGold Ashanti Australia’s Tropicana gold mine. During a low-load shutdown period, our 24MW solar farm supplied the entire mine load for 40 minutes. This allowed us to test out the transition from HOFF to HON (hydrocarbons on) and back into HOFF. This important milestone demonstrates our system’s capability to be 100% renewables powered for extended periods and, importantly, ensures reliability as we take the next steps to bring our wind turbines online. Seamlessly transitioning to HOFF during operations can be a complex process. Our industry-leading HOFF track record and integration technologies have enabled us to achieve this great outcome at Tropicana, which is helping us to build on this important capability. #renewableenergy #cleanenergy #energytransition #fossilfuelfree #fuellingthefuture
