    One of the world's greatest minds Warren Buffett recently released his annual letter and I was not surprised to see his focus on the importance of talent for business success. Some of his key comments include: 1) Succession Planning: He highlights the importance of choosing successors based on alignment with company philosophy and not an impressive CV to keep a business 'on course'. 2) Talent Evaluation: When evaluating business talent, Buffett highlighted that some of the most successful people he has worked with were not the most educated but had the strongest innate business sense and were the most determined. Some other key takeaways include: 1) Mistake Management: “The cardinal sin is delaying the correction of mistakes.’ Problems, cannot be wished away,”. “They require action, however uncomfortable that may be... And our experience is that a single winning decision can make a breathtaking difference over time. 2) Transparency: He shared that companies with a policy of projecting only perfection to analysts and shareholders are making a mistake. “I have also been a director of large public companies at which ‘mistake’ or ‘wrong’ were forbidden words at board meetings or analyst calls,” he wrote. “That taboo, implying managerial perfection, always made me nervous.” and sets a business up for future failure when they inevitably cannot sustain results.
