Fighting for a world free from pancreatic and upper GI cancers.
About us
The Pancare Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation, established in 2011. With more Australians dying of pancreatic, liver, biliary, oesophageal and stomach cancer than any other single cancer, Pancare was established as a way of increasing awareness, research and support for those affected by these cancers. When a patient is diagnosed with cancer it impacts on the whole family and the community in which they live. The Pancare Foundation not only focuses on expediting scientific progress but also the delivery of programs that are designed to address individual and changing patient needs, from the point of diagnosis through to recovery and bereavement. This time last week, our Head of Events, Sheena Delaney, had the incredible privilege of attending the annual Superbowl event in Brisbane, where Pancare Foundation was once again the beneficiary. It’s been four years now that Pancare have had the honour of being a part of this amazing event, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the continued support of these legends! 🤩 A massive shoutout to the one and only Paul McDow affectionately known as "Duke," for championing this event year after year. The amount of work that goes into organising something like this is no small feat, especially with Paul's full-time job and family commitments. Paul, you are truly the best! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. We would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the incredible sponsors who jumped on board to support the cause: NCH Connect Siemon Vertiv SRA Solutions Panduit Palmerbet Optical Solutions Australia (OSA) Polaris Data Centre Alliance SI Body Armour Complex Electrical (CE Group) Go Bullion FOCUS ELECTRICAL Electrical Bose/Anixter QDNE (Queensland Data N Electrical) A special thank you to Ian Stasinowsky from IT Website Solutions, who generously volunteered his time to assist with ticketing and IT-related components. Your support made everything run smoothly - thank you! Also, huge thanks to Nick Verry, Scott Patrick Campbell, and Samantha Baker for giving their time and helping with event tasks. Your contributions helped make this event run seamlessly, and we are so grateful for your support. To the fantastic crew at The Pineapple Hotel, Stacey and Tony, what a dynamic duo you are! And to Rugby League legends Gorden Tallis and Kev Walters, along with broadcaster Pat Welsh, who made this event even more memorable. But most of all, thank you to the Brisbane community for showing up and showing out. Your generosity and support for families affected by upper GI cancers is nothing short of inspiring. Let’s continue to make a difference together. #PancareFoundation #SuperbowlEvent #CharitySupport #BrisbaneCommunity #UpperGICancers #MakingADifference

Over $30,000 raised to inspire hope and change lives 💜 The Clough Family Charity Race Night was a huge success once again, raising an incredible $30,902 for Pancare Foundation! This brings their total to an outstanding $124,000 over five much loved events since 2018 — all in loving memory of Bruce Clough, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in 2013. Bruce’s legacy lives on—not only through the thriving family automotive business he founded, now significantly expanded in Pakenham and Cranbourne, but also through the Clough family’s inspiring passion and commitment to supporting those impacted by pancreatic and upper GI cancers. A massive thank you to Paul Clough, Kane, Zac Clough, Tamara Clough, and Wade Calderwood for organising such a fantastic event and delivering this amazing result. We’re also incredibly grateful to Grant Rutley, Pancare patient advocate, for sharing his powerful story as the night’s keynote speaker, and to James Stewart and Doug Hawkins for representing Pancare at the event. Your dedication and generosity are truly making a difference. Together, we’re bringing hope to families who need it most. 💪💜 #TogetherForHope #CloughFamily #PancareFoundation #PancreaticCancerAwareness

A Tribute to Leanne Drummy and a Platinum Achievement for Pancare The talented Leanne Drummy – HR Director at Open LMS and a young mother of three – tragically passed away from stomach cancer. Her loss led to a heartfelt partnership with Pancare, with Open LMS becoming a champion of our mission through volunteering, events, and more. The highlight? A world-class volunteer onboarding program, created with Bernadette Muscat. Earlier this week, at the Global LearnX Awards, it won the PLATINUM Online Learning Solution Award — the top solution across all sectors in Australia. 🌟 This award is a tribute to Leanne, who inspired the platform. Her family, now Pancare volunteers, were deeply moved by the program created in her honour. Their pride reminds us of our “why.” Bernie, take a bow. This is one of Pancare’s greatest achievements and a career highlight. Leanne’s legacy drives the expansion of our volunteer network, enabling greater impact. To Liam Liddicoat and the Open LMS team, thank you. Bernie, your passion inspires us all. A duplicate trophy will be sent to Leanne’s family this Christmas – a token of how her light continues to shine. This moment celebrates our purpose and the achievements that make it all worthwhile. #Pancare #Legacy #LearnXAwards #Teamwork #MakingADifference
