Supporting and partnering with top architects, innovative designers, leading builders, cutting-edge artists and discerning clients, Partridge is proud to have played a role in helping bring thousands of innovative concepts into stunning reality. There’s a good chance you’ve already seen or experienced Partridge in action... Partridge-engineered houses are featured consistently in architectural magazines and construction industry periodicals, and three have also been featured on Grand Designs Australia! Or you may have wandered into one of the many retail stores engineered by Partridge; or seen feature films like Mad Max, the Matrix, and X-Men; or you’ll have seen Partridge-engineered structures whilst watching the opening & closing ceremonies of the Olympic or Commonwealth Games. Or perhaps you’ll have seen an old apartment building getting a new lease of life as Partridge engineers & oversees the remedial work to the facades & addresses the concrete cancer. But don’t just take our word for it. The results can be seen around Sydney & in many areas around Australia: Houses, office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, restaurants, playgrounds, grandstands, factories, sportsgrounds, shops, facades, public sculptures, parks, landscapes – even a record-breaking car catapult! A inspiring and dynamic week at the University of Galway has just come to a close, where Partridge Director Eamonn Madden has been engaging 250 first-year engineering students through the "Creative Response" assignment, a unique three-hour challenge designed to foster creativity in engineering by connecting analytical thinking with artistic expression. "Art in Engineering" was facilitated by Partridge for over 15 years at the University of Sydney, and is now in its seventh consecutive year at the University of Galway. Eamonn kicked off the week with a lecture and art studio session, where students explored the intersection of engineering and creativity. They were challenged to capture the essence of the campus through photography, a medium that encouraged them to see their environment from a new perspective. Two days later, the students returned for an immersive three-hour studio session. Armed with canvases, brushes, and black-and-white paints, they created A3-sized artworks inspired by a carefully curated selection of images. The task required them to translate their emotional and intellectual reactions into visual art and articulate their inspiration in a concise 150-word essay. The week culminated in judging the students' creations for the annual competition, a highlight of the engineering school calendar. At the prize-giving ceremony, Eamonn also had the honour of presenting last year’s winner, Holly Byrne, whose artistic and engineering roots made her achievement particularly meaningful. Holly shared that her father is an engineer and her mother an artist. Eamonn is currently judging this year's winner, we look forward to more news of who the next accomplished and promising young engineer will be.

The Partridge team had a fantastic day at the Horizon Golf Day last week. We enjoyed the friendly competition, great company, and the opportunity to support two great causes: @schf.kids and @chris_obrien_lifehouse. And as a bonus, we snagged second place for Best Dressed. Thanks to Horizon for organizing such a well-run event. Looking forward to next year! #HorizonGolfDay #PartridgeTeam #Networking #Charity #Golf #BestDressed

Every year, Bondi Beach becomes a captivating outdoor gallery, hosting Sculpture by the Sea. This free public event exhibits the works of talented sculptors from around the world, attracting over a million visitors annually. Last week, Partridge staff enjoyed a memorable social outing to see the finished result of the creative projects that we have worked on with the artists. Partridge is proud to be a long-standing supporter of Sculpture by the Sea, having contributed to the event for over 14 years. We share the exhibition's passion for artistic expression and believe in the power of collaboration between artists and engineers. We actively support emerging artists, providing them with the resources they need to bring their creative visions to life. We also offer engineering consultation to exhibiting artists, addressing critical concerns such as wind loads, structural integrity, stability, and deflection prevention. Additionally, we assist in designing or reviewing footings to ensure the sculptures are securely anchored and safe for public enjoyment. Beyond our professional support for the exhibition, this outing provided a fantastic opportunity for our team to connect, relax, and appreciate art in a beautiful setting. By immersing ourselves in the creative energy of the event, we strengthened our team bonds and gained fresh inspiration. #SculptureByTheSea #BondiBeach #PartridgeEngineering #PublicArt #ArtAndEngineering #CreativeCollaboration #TeamBuilding #EngineeringConsultation #StructuralEngineering #PublicSafety #anotherpartridgeproject

Last week, FutureNet NSW hosted an informative panel discussion and networking event for emerging professionals on navigating career challenges at an early stage. We were thrilled to see several members of our engineering team, including Partridge team leader Casthuri Kamalaraj, participate in the event. Casthuri moderated a thought-provoking panel discussion with industry leaders, who shared their career journeys and valuable advice. Topics explored ranged from the significance of project planning to psychological safety in the workplace. As an initiative of Consult Australia and FutureNet NSW, this platform offers young professionals opportunities to connect with peers and industry representatives. Our engineers had a valuable experience learning new skills and building relationships with like-minded professionals. Events like these help develop essential networks and non-technical skills crucial for success in today’s competitive marketplace. Partridge is committed to nurturing the next generation of engineers, and we are proud to support initiatives like this. This event provided our team with a valuable opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute to the growth of the engineering profession. The focus on fostering young talent aligns perfectly with Partridge’s innovative and forward-thinking approach to engineering. #FutureNetNSW #ConsultAustralia #EmergingProfessionals #CareerAdvice #Networking #partridgeengineering #listenengagethinkdeliver

Did you know our team’s talents extend beyond the office? It turns out that designing complex structures isn’t their only skill. Last Friday, our office was treated to an array of high-calibre performances at our first “Partridge Got Talent” event. From hidden guitar heroes and a secret singer to intricate keyboard melodies and a soothing trumpet solo, the talent on display surprised and delighted everyone in attendance. The evening also featured a lightning-fast art competition and a cooking demonstration, where Frank Spataro guided us through the art of perfect cannoli construction. Who knew Partridge staff were such rockstars? A huge thank you to all participants, and special congratulations to our winner, Raul Reinhardt. A special mention also goes to Charlotte Turner, whose heartfelt rendition of Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love” brought tears to many eyes.

The Ribbon Playground is an extension of the award-winning Darling Quarter, designed by ASPECT Studios for the NSW Government. The Playground caters to the previously unmet needs of older children, adding an exciting and adventurous destination to what has become Australia’s most-visited tourist attractions at Darling Harbour. The design of the Playground provides drama and delight through suspended and cantilevered net "waves" that allow children to climb above the surrounding crowds. A key goal for ASPECT is to create new connections between our cities and our young people. The Ribbon embodies this, by creating a destination for families and children on one of Australia’s most prominent sites.
