Meet the Team – Ryan Boyd Ryan joined us this year after making the move across the pond with his partner. Our connection started through our friends at Contract Scotland and we quickly brought him on board for our renewables project in North Brisbane. Ryan has truly impressed us with his ability to hit the ground running. He quickly adapted to the Aussie lingo, embraced a new culture, and navigated the challenges of settling into a completely new life. ✈️📢 PD Project Delivery Pty Ltd are going to Scotland! 📢✈️ Our Managing Director, Paul Doherty will be spending a week with Contract Scotland from Saturday 26th October. We’ll be running a couple of events to talk about what moving to Australia is really like, plus we’ll be holding some interviews. For anyone who doesn’t know Paul’s story, he was working as a civil engineer in Scotland before making his way to Australia on a working holiday visa in 2012. He’s never looked back, and after building his experience with many recognisable names in the Australian construction/engineering space, he set up PD Project Delivery in 2018. This is a great opportunity to hear more about why he originally made the move, what he’s learned along the way, and why he ultimately stayed/became a Aussie citizen! He’ll take you through what’s happening in Australia right now, what’s coming down the track in the next few years, as well as some of the things you’ll encounter when moving from the Scottish/UK construction industry to Australia! As a business we focus on civil engineering projects (everything from roads/highways, rail, water, renewables, bulk earthworks/groundworks etc!), so this event will be focused on people with civil engineering experience, or those with relevant experience on large building projects (externals, piling, concrete frames/slipform etc). Ideally, you'll be under 35 (so eligible for a working holiday visa and the Contract Scotland team can talk you through this easy process), but don't let that put you off if you are older/have family and would require sponsorship - we still want to talk to and meet you!
