Some bittersweet news from the Performing Lines WA team. Our incredible Senior Producer, Jeremy Smith, has announced that he’ll be leaving us in the new year. Jeremy has brought so much leadership, creativity, and initiative to the WA office, and his impact on our team and the arts community has been truly extraordinary. Stay tuned for updates in January about recruiting for this highly coveted role. In the meantime, we’re gearing up for a proper farewell celebration to honour the one and only Jez – a true legend in every sense. Thank you for everything, Jeremy! Photo by Marnie Richardson

We were thrilled to see Annette Downs recognised at this year's PAC Australia - Australian Performing Arts Exchange IMPACT Awards, taking home the 2024 Wendy Blacklock Industry Legend Award!   With a rich tenure as Senior Producer of the Tasmanian office, spanning two decades, Annette was deservedly recognised for her exceptional work empowering new generations of independent artists to create ambitious and inventive works, and creating rich and lasting opportunities for artists and producers to thrive in a regional context. In particular, the sharing and legacy of Annette’s artist residency and development model continues to hold strong resonance and impact across the country. Performing Lines has now delivered this residency model in Bunbury, Darwin, Cairns, Geelong, Wollongong, Port Pirie, Bathurst, and soon Broome, as well as continuing to run the program annually in Tasmania for over ten years. Congratulations to all this year's IMPACT Award winners, and big thanks to PAC Australia for running these awards and recognising the extraordinary work being done across the sector. https://lnkd.in/gMGXgdfb

We are excited to announce that we will be joining the National Performing Arts Partnership Framework (NPAPF) from 2025, announced by Creative Australia earlier today.      Performing Lines will join 38 other organisations as part of the national framework, extending our congratulations to La Boite Theatre that enter the NPAPF alongside us. Our teams and board members in NSW, WA, TAS and VIC look forward to upholding our strong, 40-year track record of supporting independent artists, producing quality works and designing and delivering sector-based capacity building initiatives that contribute to the very fabric of the Australian performing arts sector, ensuring its current and future sustainability and vibrancy.    Performing Lines Chairperson, Robi Stanton said that the company is a unique addition to the Framework, as one of the only organisations working with independent performing artists nationally. “We look forward to continuing to champion the independent sector as a powerful force of contemporary cultural expression,” she said.    Inclusion in the Framework, will provide the company with stability and security over the next 8 years, allowing for long-term planning and commitments to artists, presenters and industry, as well as an important seat at the table to champion the independent sector.     Read more here https://bit.ly/3wNcFzY
