The Cambridge, Kununurra is heading into its final phase - this ambitious 2,100 sqm, 3-storey hotel and restaurant structure is built almost entirely from precast concrete, showcasing the power of precise planning and engineering expertise. Each precast element was crafted with precision by All Cast NT in Darwin, then transported and assembled on-site in Kununurra. The Peritas team stepped in with structural design, construction support, and temporary works engineering, tackling challenges posed by limited trade availability. By opting for precast, we eliminated the need for traditional on-site formwork, significantly accelerating construction while boosting efficiency. 🛠 Hands-on learning with Hilti in Belmont! We were invited to the Hilti Group in Belmont last week, the visit starting with a short theoretical presentation from Rendy. This laid the foundation for a practical training session where we learned how to install mechanical anchors and chemical anchors. We also got hands-on experience with the critical step of properly cleaning drilled holes before injection - a vital process to ensure safe and secure installations. Christian and Kim kicked off their time at Autodesk University AU2024 with a 5km fun run, setting the tone for a day of learning and inspiration in San Diego! 🏃♂️💡 Here's a recap of the first day, sounds like it's been a HUGE start to the conference. From the opening session with Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost and CTO Raji Arasu, we gained insights into how the cloud is unlocking new opportunities for AI integration, helping us harness creativity where it counts the most. 🚀 The discussion with LA28 Olympics Chairperson Casey Wasserman highlighted how Autodesk software is playing a key role in revitalizing Los Angeles for the 2028 Games - truly inspiring to see what's possible! A standout session for us was "Closing the Gap: Establishing a collaboration loop between software developers and practitioners." It gave us a deeper understanding of the software development roadmap and how we can integrate these advancements into our own operations. 📈 We also explored the expo, connecting with Global eTraining to explore opportunities for lifting our internal training standards. Their resources could be game-changing for our team's development. 🎓 Our session on Digital Twins using the Autodesk suite was a real eye-opener, revealing new ways we can leverage technology for our projects at Peritas. And to top it all off, we wrapped up the day with a Sundowner with the Arkance crew on the deck of the USS Midway - a spectacular setting to end a day full of learning and connection. 🛳️ It’s clear that Peritas is a world leader in implementing Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), positioning us to benefit from AI integration in the years ahead.
