As part of men’s health month at PEXA and in recognition of International Men's Day, we invited bronze medal boxer Harry Garside to join us for a discussion on men's health. Harry, who is known for challenging traditional masculine stereotypes, shared how boxing taught him to embrace vulnerability. His key perspectives: 🥊 True masculinity is about being caring, emotionally available, and putting family first - not just physical strength. 🥊 Find healthy outlets to work through feelings of insecurity rather than suppressing them. For Harry, boxing provided that outlet. 🥊 Don't be afraid to forge your own definition of what it means to "be a man" based on your values, not societal expectations. What a way to wrap up the year with the awesome annual Australian Institute of Conveyancers - NSW Division (AICNSW) State Conference in sunny Manly! Lauren Franey, Gasia Adomian and Oliver Beswick had a fantastic time connecting with customers and industry partners throughout the day.   We continued our tradition of the business card draw prize, with Colin Turnell from Endeavour Conveyancing Services taking home the winnings. For something a little different, we also hosted a glitzy 'Pamper Parlour' for attendees to freshen up between the conference and the evening cocktail party.    A massive thank you to Chris Tyler, CEO of AICNSW, and the entire team for hosting another standout event! This Movember, the PEXA and PEXA UK team has been raising funds and awareness for men's health issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. The mo-growing has been epic, with stellar moustache efforts from the PEXA ‘mo-bros’ Grant Lingwood-Smith, Straty Apostolakos, Claudio Palmeri, Dan William Mason, Tom Davy, Peter Nicholls, Chanura H., Graham Fairley, Adil Abdul Qader and Mark Robinson. Meanwhile, some unstoppable PEXA ‘mo-sistas’ and ‘mo-movers’ have pledged to run or walk 60kms for the 60 men we lose to suicide each hour globally. Helen Eames, Michalina Lisik, Sabina Sopov, Crystal Smith, Ahlam Haddad, Erica Fredriksen, Anna Smith, Kerry-anne Mellor, Louise Morcus, Amanda Jerman, Chanura H., Dan William Mason, Chris Bodikian, and Kade Hamood have collectively walked or run an incredible 1,219 kms! Thanks to everyone's efforts and donations across Australia and the UK, they’ve raised $7,501 for this important cause. In addition, PEXA has matched all donations to double the impact to $15,002! ➡️ In the tech industry, only 28% of the workforce identify as women compared to 51% of the whole workforce. This week, Tech Council of Australia (TCA), in partnership with Project F, has launched new set of standards to address gender diversity across the tech sector. PEXA is proud to have joined the T-EDI Standards as a Founding Partner, alongside Atlassian, Telstra, CyberCX, Accenture and Culture Amp. Our Group Chief Technology Officer and TCA Non-Executive Director, Eglantine Etiemble said: “The T-EDI standards give companies a clear and actionable framework to define what good looks like, embed equity and drive real progress. It provides as well great transparency to prospect employees and has the potential to create a differentiating value proposition as an employer. “PEXA has been focusing on lifting our diversity and inclusion over the past years with great success, moving from 21 to 37 per cent female participation in our workforce in the past 2 years alone. We’re still reeling from our awesome #HackDay extravaganza! Over two days, 18 teams of employees from across Australia, India and The Philippines came together to pitch their best and brightest ideas for improving PEXA’s products, processes and people initiatives. While the initiative was founded to help foster innovation, it’s also a great excuse for some fun and frivolity around the office. While our teams got to work, we saw our PEXA Plex transformed into a summery garden tea party, complete with life-sized games, barista-made coffees, a gelato cart and American barbecue for lunch. 👏 A round of applause for the Hack Day committee who made all this possible!
