Did you see us at #MM2024AdPha? 👀 It was a pleasure to exhibit at Advanced Pharmacy Australia's Medicines Management conference in Adelaide recently! Among networking opportunities and hearing from a variety of speakers, our Professional Officers Gary West and Naomi Lim, along with Qld Local Advisory Committee member Gilbert Yeates, met two of our 2024 Student Grant winners Aaron Stockwell and Riko N. One of the highlights from Advanced Pharmacy Australia's Medicines Management conference last week was the opportunity to formally present Marika with the Pharmacists' Support Service (PSS) John Coppock Pharmacist Wellbeing Award, for her work on The Dignity Project. The Dignity Project was announced as the inaugural winner last month and it was wonderful to have our Professional Officer Gary West present the award, alongside PSS Executive Officer Kay Dunkley. Aggression in community pharmacy settings is, unfortunately, not a new issue. It can have a huge impact on the mental health of pharmacists and pharmacy support staff, affecting their ability to practice confidently. To help pharmacists be better equipped to respond to stressful situations that may arise, PDL has developed a CPD activity on Dealing with Aggression in the Pharmacy. The CPD activity, along with the CLASHED Action Plan, aim to provide measures to help pharmacists manage and mitigate aggressive confrontations. Group 1 and 2 CPD credits available. Dealing with Aggression in Pharmacy via the Australian Journal of Pharmacy: https://lnkd.in/gHY95BVX Action Plan via PDL Guides & Resources page: https://lnkd.in/gyhjG3xq Additional resource: Are you going through a challenging time? Pharmacists' Support Service (PSS)(Phone: 1300 244 910) provides a listening ear to pharmacists, pharmacy interns and students in times of stress and is available every day of the year from 8am to 11pm AEST/AEDT.

Teamwork makes the dream work! Last week, our PDL Local Advisory Committee (LAC) members gathered in Melbourne for the annual LAC Seminar. Our LAC is made up of pharmacists located all across Australia who come from an array of different practice areas. The annual seminar is a great opportunity to bring these brilliant minds together, with everyone collaborating to share their knowledge and insights about the profession. A highlight from the day was hearing from a special guest speaker, Jeremy Smith from Meridian Lawyers, who delivered an insightful presentation on Professional Boundaries. A huge thank you to all of our speakers on the day, including QLD LAC member Michelle Bou-Samra, NSW/ACT LAC member Jeffery Wang, PDL Risk & Governance Manager David Roddis, Professional Development Pharmacist Amy Minion, Professional Officers Gary West, Jess Hadley, Kylie Neville, Simone Henriksen and Naomi Lim. Thank you to all who attended and made it a successful event!
