The Polaris Business Mentor Team came together for their end-of-year meeting, hosted by Polaris Business Mentor and Polaris AMMP Client Rory Hope and his team at Rory's Group Australia in Cavan, SA. A huge thank you to Rory Hope, who shared his business journey and provided a behind-the-scenes tour of Rory’s Group facility at Cavan, SA. Each Mentor was recognised and awarded a Polaris Centre lapel pin and a signed copied of The Power of Mentorship book by author Mark Jones (FAIPF) (MAITD) - "The Mentors Mentor". Sasha Dragovelic (Polaris Team Leader), and Leandro Lopez Digon (Manager City Shaping, City of Salisbury, South Australia) took the opportunity to reflect on the journey of selecting and forming the Polaris Business Mentor Panel and the achievements in 2024 since July. We are proud to highlight some incredible achievements since the official launch of the Polaris Business Mentors Panel on 1st July 2024, under the guidance of our inspiring 'Mentor of Mentors', ROB CHISHOLM oam, who has been mentoring with the Polaris Business Development Centre for over 15 years. During 2024 the Panel has provided: ⭐ 131 One2One business consultations ⭐ 76 mentoring sessions ⭐ Support at 9 Business Fundamentals Workshops with 97 participants Thank you to Polaris Centre Team Members Janet Wootton (Events and Operations Coordinator) and Robyn White (Polaris Administration Officer) for the wonderful support they provide our Mentor team to undertake their work, including assigning clients, compiling reports, scheduling appointments and meeting rooms, arranging training and networking meetings and organising resources. We are looking forward to 2025 being another year of significant business impact through our experience and talented mentoring team. The Australian Government has announced funding for 64 community infrastructure projects under the Thriving Suburbs Program, totalling more than $300 million. Take a look at the projects in Queensland Government, Government of New South Wales (NSW Government), Victoria State Government (Victorian Government), Government of South Australia, Northern Territory Government, Government of Western Australia cities. https://lnkd.in/gMNJ6wBm About the Thriving Suburbs Program: The program has been funded to deliver one round of funding of between $500,000 and $15 million to local government entities and incorporated not-for-profit organisations for capital works projects that enhance liveability, strengthen social cohesion and support local amenities in urban, suburban and peri-urban communities across Australia's Greater Capital City Statistical Areas.

💡 Employee Ownership & Economic Transformation. 💡 Informative and thought provoking presentation by Graeme Nuttall OBE on Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) Business Model. In the UK approxamatly 500 companies are changing to an EOT Model. In the UK, there are even tax incentives for people and companies to be in an EOT. Advantages of EOT's include: ✔️ longer retention of employees ✔️ siginificant reductions in loss through theft & wastage ✔️ increased employee productivity & care ✔️ continuation of an enterprise beyond current ownership ✔️ enterprises remain in the community EOT's are different to Employee Share Option Plan (ESOP) in that shares in the business are held in a trust on behalf of employees. 🔎 Although there is a movement in Australia with the establishement of Employee Ownership Australia, the Australian Taxation Office has declined currently to provide guidence for EOT's.
