A great lifestyle in a treasured environment.
About us
Port Stephens is known for its incredible natural beauty and vibrant community, covering an area of close to 900 square kilometers and populated by over 75,000 people. Port Stephens is diverse – with coastal villages, riverside suburbs, rural lands and historic town centres, it’s the ideal tourism and retirement destination as well as a great place to live, work and play. We embrace the level of difference that each of our employees brings with them and offer working arrangements that allow employees to focus on the things they consider most important to them outside of their careers throughout all stages of their life! We live our values, are encouraged to express our ideas, place value on our personal and professional development, and come together to share ideas that will in turn enhance the wellbeing of our community. Port Stephens Council values Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and strives to create an inclusive workplace. We provide fair opportunities for development, progression, and work conditions to all. We celebrate differences in age, ethnicity, gender, religion, language, physical appearance, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, education, and diversity of thought. We’re inclusive and commit to creating a respectful and supportive environment for all individuals and groups, making reasonable adjustments to provide a positive, barrier-free recruitment process and supportive workplace We acknowledge the Worimi as the original Custodians and inhabitants of Port Stephens. May we walk the road to tomorrow with mutual respect and admiration as we care for the beautiful land and waterways together.
