As the weather warms up across Australia, our power grids are facing increased demand to keep us cool. While the main power grid is under strain, many regional towns are experiencing a growing number of blackouts due to their dependence on traditional grid systems. This situation highlights the need for these towns to invest in alternative power sources, such as Stand-alone Power Systems. Recently, Powertech contributed to this cause and provided a Stand-alone Power System that is outdoor rated and has a storage capacity of up to 50kWh. The Stand-alone Power System was designed, assembled and commissioned by Powertech in the Malaga (Perth office), Western Australia. This build utilises an SMA Sunny Boy 5kW PV Inverter, Sunny Island 8.0H Battery Inverter and 31.5kWh Pylontech LiFePO4 battery storage. Earlier this year, our team successfully completed a high-voltage maintenance outage at the Kiata Wind Farm in the Hindmarsh Shire, Victoria, for our client Vestas. Despite a tight shutdown window, our team worked diligently alongside other contractors and the client's team to ensure all maintenance tasks were completed safely and efficiently. We are proud to have returned all high-voltage assets to service on time, minimising disruption to the local power network and enabling the wind farm to resume normal operations. #Powertech #WindFarm #HighVoltage

Recap on 2024, ATI Australia held training at the Powertech facility in Perth. The training was centered on cable diagnostic testing using the BAUR Test unit. Powertech owns and operates the BAUR VIOLA unit, which is used in testing low to medium Voltage underground cables. This unit has a capability of up to 44kV rms and 62kV peak output. The team at ATI assisted with integral training on the new BAUR software version 4, which assists with VLF (Very low frequency), Voltage withstand, Tan Delta and Partial Discharge testing. This unit assists to ascertain cable integrity and ongoing condition monitoring.
