As National Safe Work Month ends, we’re proud of the proactive steps we’ve taken to prioritise #health, #safety and #wellbeing across all our sites! As part of the month, we focused on raising awareness and providing resources that empower everyone to not just work safely every day, but that improve personal wellbeing overall. From providing free skin checks and self-health check monitors for our team members to use, to conducting guided stretching sessions and implementing our new Work Safe Rules, our teams know that our commitment to safety is paramount. We were honoured to host the visiting Fiji Government delegation at our Wacol facility on Thursday 17 October, including the Hon. Agni Deo Singh, Minister for Employment, and Mr. Mataiasi Daulako from the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) The visit focused on strengthening collaboration around the PALM scheme and discussing opportunities for Fijian team members. We are proud of the positive feedback we received on the work being done at Primo Foods to support Fijian workers, and we look forward to continuing our partnerships with both the Fiji and Australian Governments to foster growth and opportunity for all. We're honoured to have been recognised with five Gold Awards at the Australian Meat Industry Council Charcuterie Excellence Awards, including for our Primo Cacciatori Casalinga Mild, Air-Dried Salami Sticks, and Reserve Christmas Full Leg Ham. Alongside these, we were also fortunate to have secured 17 Silver and four Bronze awards for a range of our products, including the Reserve Christmas Australian Ironbark Honey Half Leg Ham and Hans Chorizo Deli. Last week, Primo Foods celebrated NAIDOC Week – an acknowledgement that recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.   This year’s theme, ‘Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud’, honours the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture – with fire a symbol of connection to Country, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.   Across our sites, we celebrated the week with local Elders from our communities, participating in a number of activities nationwide. We reflected on the journey, strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our COO, Jamie Eastley, stated; “Primo Foods acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land that we share, and that it is up to each of us to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion in our workplaces and lives.”
