We're excited to announce the successful completion of a unique project for a valued Pilbara client. Our WA Energy & Resources team transformed a spent iron ore pit in the Pilbara into a functional landfill, complete with essential admin and storage facilities for general waste. We designed a solution that avoided costly hard rock excavation, instead leveraging existing stockpiled waste run of mine materials, significantly reducing project costs, schedule, and risk. With the guidance of Aurora Environmental, we ensured full compliance with the Environmental Protection (Rural Landfill) Regulations 2002, leading to swift approval from DWER. Well done to all involved in the successful conclusion of this project. Exciting news from our Darwin team. We're thrilled to be underway with the design of the Borroloola Central project, a vital new community hub. Located in the remote town of Borroloola, NT, this service centre will make a real difference to the local Indigenous community. A key tenant will be Purple House (Western Desert Nganampa Walytja Palyantjaku Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation), a community-controlled health service providing dialysis services, allowing residents to receive life-saving treatment at home, surrounded by family, instead of having to travel or relocate to Darwin or Katherine. The centre will also house retail, government, and community facilities, creating a central hub for the entire community. We're proud to be partnering with Louw Group and Bennett Architecture on this important project, providing civil and structural engineering expertise. Our Darwin team has extensive experience delivering projects in remote areas, including the Gunbalanya Health Centre, Katherine Sportsground, Ramingining site servicing plans, and Warmun Health Centre. We understand the unique challenges of remote construction and are committed to delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions.
