It’s been an absolute privilege to partner with The GEO Group Australia again this year with their leadership development. Last week Simon Fallon and Sarah Savvas had the pleasure of spending the day at Ravenhall Corrections Centre, for a final group coaching session with 2 cohorts of staff. It was so rewarding to see them graduate, as the newest leaders at GEO. 👩🎓 I graduated 👩🎓 (& this time without a hefty hecs debt!) A 10 month leadership program concluded this week with the final assignment - a self reflective presentation on our journey, strategic project and outcomes followed by a graduation celebration and dinner. Do you know how hard it is for an over analyser, self doubter me to present for 15 minutes about myself!? 🤯 This program has challenged me, celebrated me, confused me, reminded me, broke me and built me. 💡 The 360 hogan assessments confirmed I am a multitasker who doesn’t like to say no so spreads myself thin but I get sh$t done, can be highly trusted and likes to connect opportunities with a strategic mind! 💡 My executive coaching tested many frustation levels and unpeeled revelations I never expected. It’s is true how much influence our past has on our future behaviours perspectives and approaches 💡 My strategic project provided valuable insights to the employment services programs, labour market and government policy in New Zealand. It’s a tough climate over there but great things are happening! 💡 Leadership theory workshops (delivered by the incredible Richard Dore) reminded me of the simple things as leaders we can sometimes overlook in our world of chaos and change. Graduating is something I am incredibly proud of. I encourage and believe the development of anyone is life long and when opportunities present we should take them and make the most of what they can deliver on. I have never been a leader looking for the pursuit of accolades… I was beyond humbled and completely speechless last night ( a rare thing!) when I was announced as the inaugural recipient of the Craig James Leadership Award. This award is in memorial of a man that left an impression of myself and everyone in the academy - he built the academy and tragically passed away earlier this year. This award is to reflect exemplary leadership and commitment to the IntoWork values - two things that Craig lived and breathed. It’s an honor to receive this and my commitment to pay my learnings forward and inspire others the way Craig did stands strong. It’s been a huge two days celebrating the leadership academy graduates of 2024. We did it! A massive thank you to IntoWork Australia for the investment and opportunity. For me, thanks ATT Apprenticeship Training Trust for hosting me for 2 weeks, Proteus Leadership for the inspiring sessions CoachHub - The digital coaching platform for providing the access and platform to an incredible coach. Finally, to my team and my colleagues (both within the business and within our sector) who continue to enable me to learn, grow, suceed, failure (and constantly doubt myself) but always allowing me to align back to “my why”.
