Lee Energy Systems Inc recognized this issue on five wells that needed to be fixed before final abandonment. That’s where our cutting-edge 600 DPT Tool and proven GATOR PERFORATOR technology stepped in to deliver fast, efficient results.🐊 The Challenge • Five wells with casing with surface casing vent flows were required to be fixed prior to final abandonment (sustained casing pressure). • The international operator needed a way to gain circulation to the vent assembly with all wells showing good to excellent bond to casing per the logged intervals. The Solution • Our GATOR PERFORATOR evolved into the 600 DPT (Deep Penetrating Tool), a one-blade system designed to perforate multiple casing strings at once. • By cutting 24–48 intervals at 60° phasing (with rotating 30° offsets), 1–2 meters of perforations were created, providing 91–182 inches of total flow area. The Results • Three wells were successfully shut off with just one interval, while two required an additional upper interval. • Total job time (from RIH to POOH and circulation) ranged from 3.5 to 5.5 hours, all completed with zero HSE incidents or lost rig time. He provided invaluable guidance on skin cancer prevention, educating his peers on the importance of protective measures. Daniel's bravery in sharing his story has inspired many and h̶a̶s̶ deepened our collective understanding of workplace health. All this whilst executing high profile work offshore for a major customer.    Dean Burnett: Driving Service Excellence Next, we thanked Dean Burnett, whose transformative leadership at the Chinchilla Service Centre ushered in a new era of operational excellence. Dean spearheaded the implementation of Skytrust, a critical system that led the centre to achieve ISO accreditation—a testament to his tenacity and vision. His ability to rally behind a common goal showcased his skills and commitment to continuous improvement. Thanks to Dean’s efforts, Chinchilla has set a high standard for service delivery.   Bill Williams: Dedication to Inventory Management Finally, we celebrated Bill Williams, whose exceptional professionalism within the Canning Vale Team did not gon̶e̶  unnoticed. Bill’s dedication to enhancing inventory management practices and ensuring equipment readiness distinguishes him as a vital asset to our organization. His meticulous approach towards documentation and redress demonstrates a commitment to quality that uplifts the entire team. Successful Completion of Complex Plug and Abandonment (P&A) Campaign in Eastern Australia.   October, 2024 – Eastern States, Australia – R&D Solutions, in collaboration with Hydrawell, and Lee Energy Systems, successfully concluded a complex Plug and Abandonment (P&A) operation for a key operator with historical assets in the Eastern States of Australia. The project saw innovative technologies and expert teamwork come together in a safe and highly coordinated effort.   The operation, which involved the first-ever HydraCT plugs in Australia, was conducted flawlessly, with no safety incidents reported throughout the duration of the project. This milestone achievement marks a significant step forward in P&A operations in Australia, setting high standards for planning, communication, and safety.   In total, four HydraCT plugs were set across two wells, with over 600 Gator cuts made for these plugs. Hydrawell and R&D Solutions worked closely to pump these plugs, while the overall campaign saw more than 48 plugs deployed, including squeeze plugs, top-ups, and other configurations.   “The success of this operation reflects the excellent collaboration between all teams involved,” said Ray Bacon of R&D Solutions. “The meticulous planning, regular safety meetings, briefings, and the seamless communication between crews set a new standard in P&A operations. On a cold, clear night a couple of weeks ago, Dave Stevens – Tool Service Manager for R&D Solutions - was busy running completions for a major operator. The operation involved deploying a full toolstring as part of a new field development. After successfully running in the string, setting it, and completing a pressure test, Dave headed to camp for some well-deserved rest, not however before capturing this picture of the setup.   The completions assembly deployed included plugs, packers, sleeves, and associated nipple profiles, all of which were assembled and pressure-tested prior to deployment at the R&D Solutions Canning Vale Service Centre. Mega Packer Goes Live in Australia. R&D Solutions, in partnership with Lee Energy Systems, successfully deployed the Mega Packer-MPX for the first time offshore in Australia. This tool provided a permanent A&B annular barrier, ensuring the annulus was fully cemented and allowing for Gator Tool operations to be performed. After rigorous testing, Cooper Energy has approved the technology for use in the Bass Strait. The collaboration between Lee Energy Systems, Cooper Energy, and R&D Solutions led to a successful outcome.
