Did you know that young people are the most likely group to experience loneliness? And more than 40% experience persistent loneliness – meaning once a young person experiences loneliness, they stay lonely. Loneliness impacts health outcomes and leads to an increased risk of mortality.   At Raise Foundation we know loneliness was a significant issue for young people in our programs this year – with more than 3 in 5 Raise mentees reporting loneliness as an issue they had experienced.   Ending Loneliness Together in collaboration with Orygen have recently released their insights on loneliness in young people, including causes and possible solutions. We were joined by Ending Loneliness Together’s CEO Michelle H Lim on our recent webinar to learn more about what loneliness looks like in young people, how it differs from loneliness experienced by adults and how connection and community can create positive impact and lead to better outcomes for young people.   You can read more in their report here: https://lnkd.in/guwJkbRA

We’re told that all good things must come to an end, but that’s not exactly true with our great transformational partners Z Zurich Foundation. Although our funding agreement has come to an end, we are so grateful and impressed with the gold standard way they are evolving our partnership as we stop, take stock and focus attention on our collective achievements over the past eight years. We offer heartfelt thanks to the 132 Zurich Australia employees who have mentored hundreds of young people through Raise’s programs. When we first found out we were going to be a chosen charity for Future Generation 10 years ago, it was like all our Christmases had come at once!
