In our final roundtable video of the series, we headed to Victoria to chat about the 2024 real estate market and what our experts are predicting for the year ahead.  REA Group Native Content Editor and host of realestate.com.au’s real Talk podcast, Alice Piper, led the discussion with RT Edgar Toorak Director, Sarah Case, Ray White Chelsea Director and Auctioneer, Shane O'Sughrue, and Ballarat Real Estate Maryborough General Manager, Allister Morrison to get their thoughts and top tips.     Spoiler alert: the experts say it’s the perfect opportunity for Melbourne first home buyers to enter the market.     Check out their chat below.  

2024 was a strong year for the Queensland property market, with home prices in Brisbane up 12% for the year, and the median home value overtaking Melbourne and Canberra to become Australia’s second most expensive city. In the second video of our industry expert series, REA Group Director of Economic Research, Cameron Kusher, sat down with RE/MAX Bayside Principal, Hayley Van de Ven, Place New Farm Managing Director and Principal, Sarah Hackett and Ray White Burleigh Group Chief Executive Officer, Tiger Malan. Cameron and the group discussed the current trends for the Queensland market, their top tips for buyers and sellers, and what they expect in 2025. As the year comes to a close, we thought we'd take a look back and dig out some realestate.com.au stats that saw Australians keep moving on their property journey in 2024. 🤩 ⏰ 5.72 billion minutes were spent on our site — the equivalent of 10,000 years! 🏘️ The most searched suburb? Melbourne! But a shoutout to these quirky contenders - Nowhere Else, Eggs and Bacon Bay, and Useless Loop! 🏡 The most viewed properties were in Toorak and Hampton East in Victoria, Chandler in Queensland, and Point Piper in New South Wales. 📸  26.1 billion real estate photos were viewed across the year - if the photos were physical, that's enough to reach 17 times higher than the International Space Station. What a year! More Australians turn to realestate.com.au for their property needs than anywhere else, and we look forward to helping them on their property journey in 2025.
