The Australian Government , through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts, is offering funding to enable communities to embrace safer, more sustainable transport options. The Active Transport Fund (ATF), will provide $100 million in funding to support the development of new and upgraded bicycle and walking pathways, encouraging active transport while improving road safety and reducing emissions. With funding available until 2028-29, this program is designed to make our communities more liveable and environmentally conscious, all while improving the safety for pedestrians and cyclists. The ATF is now open until 13 January 2025, and local governments, state authorities, and territories can apply for the funding. For those interested in applying, you’ll need to consult the program guidelines available on the Active Transport Fund Resource web page to understand the application process and the mandatory requirements. Safer streets, cleaner air, and more connected communities! If you need further information, the ATF team is available >>> ActiveTransportFund@infrastructure.gov.au.
