Giving you a broader picture of the spaces and places we live – The Regional Data Hub (the Hub) connects Australians to data and insights about their communities. The Hub is here for all Australians – a virtual space where you can access a wealth of information to better understand the places we live, work, play and invest. Whether it’s insights on employment, housing, or liveability, the Hub brings together diverse resources to support local decision-making, strategic planning, and community engagement. It doesn’t replicate what’s already out there; instead, it complements existing tools, offering a deeper dive into the issues that matter most. The intent of the hub is to complement not replicate other content rich and public facing data sources. The hub is a live, living resource which pulls together a wide range of resources, longitudinal results and deeper dives in one easy-to-access space. As the Hub continues to grow, so do the possibilities. Stay informed by subscribing to the newsletter and be part of shaping the future of this valuable resource. Recently, our Director, Sotera Trevaskis, had the chance to attend one of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation Changemaker Workshops. This unique experience brought together regional leaders to share ideas, tackle community challenges, and explore what it really means to drive positive change. The workshop was less about titles or formal leadership roles and more about recognising that everyone has the potential to be a changemaker. From exploring creative solutions to local issues to strengthening regional networks, the day was a gameboard of valuable insights and practical tools. Inspired and ready to add to her toolbox the invaluable learnings and insights (including levelling up her Sharpie A-game), Sotera remains focused on the Wide Bay Burnett region - communities where we live, work - and love. Here’s to all changemakers working to create stronger, more connected regional communities! Thanks to Kate Giles for the 📸 #change #changemaker ##regionalaustralia ##RegionalDevelopment #regionalqueensland #leaders

We told you we'd have more to say about The Demographics Group's presentations at Queensland Farmers' Federation's 'Australia 2025' breakfast last week... A key takeaway for us is that building agriculture means building regional Queensland 🤝 To do that we need to: ✅ Keep 20- and 30- somethings in the regions and keep the future of ag strong with jobs, affordable housing, healthcare, and schooling/childcare. ✅ Embrace migration, otherwise our labour force and the country will shrink. ✅ Upskill in knowledge and human services jobs: aged care worker will overtake sales assistant as #1 job in the country. ✅ Have trades and services in the regions to keep ag ticking over: have qualified trades where they're needed and minimise downtime of vital equipment. Read on for more insights from Bernard Salt AM, Hari Hara Priya Kannan, and Simon Kuestenmacher. #column #agriculture #horticulture #QFF #QFVG #Queensland #RegionalQueensland

The Australian Government is introducing significant changes to its migration program, including the new National Innovation Visa and the updated Skills in Demand Visa (formerly the Temporary Skill Shortage subclass 482 visa). These reforms are designed to help businesses attract skilled workers and global talent to support growth and investment. The National Innovation Visa will focus on high-calibre individuals who can drive innovation and create jobs, while the Skills in Demand Visa will provide a streamlined process for employers to access the skilled workers they need. Online information sessions will be held from Monday 16 December to Wednesday 18 December to explain these changes and how they can benefit businesses and industries. For more details and to register, visit the event page>>> https://lnkd.in/gMvsi8rh This is an important opportunity to learn more about how these reforms could support workforce needs in our region.
