Consultation is now open for feedback on whether residents, property owners and businesses would like to be included in the proposed inner suburb of #Southwark. Share your thoughts in the link below.
Consultation is now open to share feedback on whether affected residents, property owners, or businesses would like to be included in the new inner west suburb of #Southwark. Southwark will: 👉 incorporate the new $1 billion mixed-use #development at the former West End Brewery site. 👉 provide at least 1,300 new residential homes as part of a master-planned redevelopment. It may also include the surrounding streets of Thebarton, which were part of the original Southwark subdivision in 1881 bound by the River Torrens to the north, Port Road to the east, Light Terrace to the south and Dew and Stirling Streets to the west. The outcome of consultation with those affected will determine the broader extent of the new suburb. We’d like to hear from those directly affected by the proposal, so to get involved and provide feedback on the proposed suburb of Southwark, click https://lnkd.in/gZyVhwv3 📢 Consultation closes on 6 March 2025. Market sounding on the former West End Brewery site has entered its final month. The newly dubbed suburb of Southwark announced by the state government on Tuesday is targeting up to 1,300 new homes as part of the $1 billion mixed-used development, including both apartments and townhouses – with a minimum of 20 per cent affordable housing. The development will include retail, commercial, hospitality and new open space with direct access to key transport links, employment centres, cultural and sporting attractions. Civil construction is expected to start within months, with the first residents anticipated to move in by the end of next year. Existing residents and businesses impacted by the suburb renaming will be able to provide feedback to the proposal when consultation occurs in the coming months.
