About us

Rethink Change hosts Australia's premier change management conferences, summits, masterclasses, training programs and webinars! We're not just event managers; we're a movement where everyone's voice matters and community counts. Our events deliver cutting edge thinking with high energy and a focus on connection! Rethink Change runs a two-day, certificate program on Change Management Fundamentals. If you have started recently in a change management role, looking to get into change management, or just improving your change skills, this course may be for you. Visit the rethinkchange.com.au website for all the details. Rethink Change holds the premier Australian change management conference held in Sydney and has two rooms / streams with amazing content, designed to be immediately actionable. The first room is live streamed and recorded for future reference. In our May 2024 Conference, we kicked-off with Keynote Speaker Dr Jen Frahm and finished with a panel discussing the challenges of implementing AI projects. Pre-conference Masterclasses at the Sydney conference are held on the day before the conference and are facilitated by experts in their field. Topics are complex with extensive application opportunities. Group sizes are limited to ensure an engaging and interactive three hour session. The Masterclasses are only offered face-to-face in the Sydney venue. The 2024 Rethink and Reconnect Change Conference was attended by over 200 attendees. Rethink Change continues to build the community by sharing new approaches to change, emerging techniques and practical tools to tackle ever changing dynamics. We are here to connect and enrich change practitioners, strategic project managers, transformation leaders, communications specialists, human resource managers, plus recruiters who specialise in change management.

Reflecting on Two Days of Transformative Change Management Training As the saying goes, "Knowledge is power," and I am thrilled to share a vignette from the enriching two-day change management training, led by Doug Wolfson. The experience was nothing short of invigorating. The course content was robust, and the discussions around real-world case studies were not only stimulating but also empowering. In a world where artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly evolving and change is the only constant, it is essential to stay updated with transformational frameworks. Equipping ourselves with the right tools, resources, and strategies is key to overcoming the challenges that come with it. A major takeaway from the training is the importance of looking at change whether personal or professional—from a radical perspective. It’s critical to understand the "Why," the "What," and the "How" behind any shift. Above all, when navigating change, it is paramount to keep the “human” in “Human Resources” at the forefront. Leading change with courage and adopting a human-centric approach ensures a more positive and impactful transition. To summarize my experience: my colleagues and I left the training feeling more confident, empowered, and positively challenged. The strategies we learned are applicable both in our personal and professional lives, providing us with a clear, simple method & roadmap to tackle challenges. As architects of change, we must always be mindful of the impact we have on organizations and their people. A big thank you to my amazing colleagues, whose camaraderie made these two days truly enjoyable and collaborative. I truly appreciate the knowledge, advice, and experiences we shared. The connections we built in such a short time are ones I will carry forward in our shared growth journey. A special shoutout to Doug Wolfson for being an incredible facilitator and change expert AKA change guru. His vast wealth of knowledge and insights made all the difference. I highly recommend Doug to anyone seeking advice on change management, exploring leadership capabilities, or simply needing a sounding board. Doug is always ready to help and add value to your leadership journey. #Changemanagement #RethinkChange #Humanresources #Peopleandculture #Humancentric #Agility #Transformation #Changegurus #Architechsofchange #Behuman #Beagile #Bekind #Driveforpurposeandpeople

From the Rethink Change webinar last night, there’s clearly much value from using a Change Management Canvas. It was interesting to get perspectives on this versatile and game changing tool!   A selection below of the great comments about the Canvas from the webinar chat: > “The power of 1 page!” - Rory > “Provides the structure to keep the facilitation process and invites collaboration.” – Allan > “Get perspectives from range of stakeholders/ diversity/ up stream/ downstream impacts etc.” – Ruth “Gets the executive to understand what needs to be considered to bring people along the journey.”  – Teresa > “Engagement of key stakeholders at the beginning to give them an overview of the change & transformation journey they will be on.” - Kristine > “It sets the basis for alignment and gets everyone literally on the same page and surfaces hidden or different interpretations.” - Birgit >“The big benefit was engaging leaders and influencers first and getting their buy-in early. It became a blueprint for change and what we would deliver.” – Sarah > “Nice high-level view of the change, encompassing key elements.” - Karen And so many more comments and thoughts . . . Thanks everyone for joining us 🙏 There seemed to be a keen interest to learn more about how to run a Change Canvas workshops online with stakeholders, using a digital whiteboard and then using GenAI tools to help with summarising the output.  Rethink Change will consider the suggestion to run a workshop or a deep dive on this for early next year. If this is something that you are interested in learning more about, please DM me. If you have an interest to go into much more detail, you can join our upcoming  Change Management Fundamental’s course in November. The Change Canvas is the change management tool that rules them all. In the course we use a number of case studies to apply the change canvas and demonstrate how different templates and tools fit together within the framework of the Change Canvas. 👉 Want to find out more? Co-Creating Change: Is the Change Management Canvas Part of Your Toolkit?   Like most disciplines, in change management, the right tools can make all the difference. One powerful tool that I've found invaluable is the Change Management Canvas. This simplistic one-page framework provides a visual overview of key elements for any change management strategy, making it accessible for diverse stakeholders. This Change Management Canvas consists of 10 core blocks, each accompanied by guiding questions that facilitate meaningful discussions. By organising these elements visually, we can better understand their interrelationships and surface critical considerations for user adoption and change management activities. What I love most about the canvas approach is that It allows stakeholders to actively participate, fostering a sense of ownership and control in shaping the way forward. Too often, we still see teams pouring hours into elaborate PowerPoint presentations that few people will read. The Change Management Canvas encourages real-time collaboration and dialogue, creating a more inclusive environment for co-creation. What’s your experience with co-creating change?   If you use a change management canvas – how do you structure it and what is your secret sauce? 📅 Join us for a Free Webinar on Change Management Canvas! 🗓 Thursday 17 October 🕕 6-7pm (Zoom) If you're interested in learning how to leverage this tool effectively, we'd love for you to join us! Visit our website for details. Rethink Change Janine Ellison
