The issues we have in our workplaces here in Australia are not unique. As we share our incident learnings with our industry peers here at Safer Together, so do our colleagues globally - via our Collaboration Partner Toolbox's website. With nearly 900 incident learnings available for download, we are confident our members will find incidents, learnings and toolboxes relevant to your work activities. These resources on the Toolbox website are freely available to Safer Together members to download and use at your next toolbox talk. We are Stronger and Safer Together.

It's important to remember to use stop work authority whenever necessary. If you believe a lift is unsafe, speak up and halt the task until conditions are confirmed to be secure. In this incident, a near miss occurred during a lifting operation on the external work platform when a 350kg fish box unexpectedly swung due to gusts of wind. Despite the unsafe situation, the operation continued until the load was safely landed, prompting a stop work authority and a safety stand down to review procedures and emphasise the importance of stopping work if conditions are unsafe. As we approach the end of 2024, it's timely to remind all our members of OUR COMMITMENT: Together we seek to prevent harm to our frontline workers by simplifying, standardising and sharing. WE PREVENT HARM TO OUR FRONTLINE WORKERS: Being healthy and safe means being free from physical and psychological harm. A safe and healthy workplace benefits everyone - frontline workers, our assets, the environment, and the communities in which we operate. WE SIMPLIFY AND STANDARDISE: We develop and adopt common industry solutions. We support our members to implement these solutions. We monitor deployment and effectiveness. We seek to reduce complexity and duplica tion for our frontline workforce. WE SHARE: We share and learn to prevent future incidents. We freely share safety innovations and best practice with our peers. We cooperate on safety - with a clear and common goal. Our 2024-2026 Strategic Plan reminds us about who we are, our Commitment and our Guiding Principles. It also identifies our areas of focus as we move forward. Safer Together plays an important role in the future of our industry. Active collaboration and participation by all companies working in our industry will be key to building a community of safety leaders, that together create a safer Australian Energy Production Industry. We are Stronger and Safer Together.

Another Assist and Assure Supervisors Safety Training course done and dusted in Toowoomba! Assist and Assure is a way of working to proactively identify and mitigate risk in work preparation and execution. Its primary objective is to avoid harm to those on the front line. Month-by-month, as we increase the number of our industry's Supervisors trained in Assist and Assure, we move closer to standardising pre-work checks that follow the procedure set out on the Step 7 Card, we move closer to standardising the language we use in this space, and we move closer to making work in our industry a safer place for everyone to be. We are Stronger and Safer Together. If you would like to attend one of our Assist and Assure training sessions - get in touch: assistandassure@safertogether.com.au. Thank you to facilitator Blair Hart (HSB Resources) for his continued support of this program.

BOOK NOW! We are excited to announce upcoming 2-day face-to-face Frontline Leadership Training in Brisbane and Perth in December 2024! Follow the link below for full details and to book a place for your emerging frontline leader. - Brisbane:  2 & 3 December 2024 (Dexus Place, Brisbane Qld.) - Perth:   9 & 10 December 2024 (ERGT Perth Safety Training Centre, Jandakot WA.) The first leadership role for any worker after being part of a work crew is the biggest step in any leadership journey, and one that will have a real impact on safety. To help set the emerging leader on course for success, the Safer Together Frontline Leadership Training (FLT) program has been created to provide the new leader with the skills and knowledge required to transition effectively into their new role.   Who Should Attend? - Field-based frontline leaders (typically work in hi-vis work wear in the field, away from company offices). - Lead a crew responsible for operational and associated activities in high-risk environments. - Who have just been appointed to their 1st leadership role in the industry [or have up to but no more than 5 years’ leadership experience]. Designed and built by industry for industry, this highly interactive and engaging 2-day program will help participants build the leadership skills and behaviours consistent with the Safer Together Safety Culture Framework and develop into effective, proactive supervisors who can ensure strong safety outcomes.   The program focuses on leadership behaviours to give emerging leaders a deeper understanding of how to ‘show up’ as a safety leader for their team and how it is that they want to be seen as a safety leader. https://lnkd.in/givk_CxW
