𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡: 𝐊𝐲𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐓𝐲𝐞-𝐓𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐞𝐚'𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬! 🎉 Kyrah's journey with Saltbush began in early 2023 when she was at a crossroads in her career. After completing a hairdressing apprenticeship, she realised her true passion lay elsewhere. Seeking guidance, she connected with Saltbush, where she received valuable mentoring from Skylie Monck and later Aron Brydon, helping her explore new career opportunities that aligned with her interests. With a strong passion for media, Kyrah was introduced to First Nations Broadcasting, where she gained hands-on experience hosting a daily radio show, producing and scheduling content and even working on film and TV sets. This experience not only solidified her career aspirations but also gave her the confidence to pursue them. A year later, Kyrah successfully stepped into a Trainee Mentor role with Saltbush. Now, five months into her new position, she is paying it forward by supporting others on similar journeys. In addition to mentoring, she has launched her own photography business - an endeavor that has already earned her a nomination for a Young Achiever Award. She has also been selected as a 2025 NT Youth Round Table Member, further showcasing her leadership in the community. Reflecting on her journey, Kyrah shared: "𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵, 𝘢𝘴 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵. The Saltbush Program Manager had the opportunity to attend a 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒀𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 alongside two mothers who work closely with our team in Tennant Creek. Hosted by 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 (𝐂𝐃𝐓) at the 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐢 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 (𝐂𝐅𝐂) office on Thursday, 30 Janaury, the session provided a supportive space for meaningful discussions and community connection. Facilitated by Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, the session covered key developmental areas such as communication, motor skills, social interactions, daily routines and emotional well-being. Families also received practical strategies to support their children at home and in the community. This supportive session provided families with a safe space to discuss their children’s goals, learning needs and development concerns. George from the CDT team helped foster meaningful discussions, ensuring families felt heard and supported. Our Program Manager remains dedicated to strengthening community connections and providing valuable resources to support young families. Through active engagement with local organisations, participation in educational sessions and collaboration with specialists. If your organisation offers resources, support or programs that contribute to children's growth, development and overall well-being, we would love to connect and explore opportunities to work together. By collaborating, we can help create inclusive and meaningful initiatives that empower families and strengthen community connections. 🤝 #saltbushnt #collaboration #tennantcreek #communityconnections #deadlytogether #workingtogether Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation
