Victoria’s Supplier Code of Conduct is Changing... From 1 April 2025, all suppliers working with the Victorian Government must comply with the revised Supplier Code of Conduct, which introduces mandatory minimum ethical standards. These updates place a stronger focus on ethics, labour rights, sustainability, and governance, making compliance essential for securing and retaining government contracts. What’s Changing? 1️⃣ The revised Code establishes mandatory ethical standards that all suppliers must meet. 2️⃣ Updated contract clauses will reinforce compliance, making adherence a contractual obligation. 3️⃣ Stricter compliance requirements mean businesses must prioritise transparency, risk management, and ethical practices to remain competitive. With these changes on the horizon, businesses should start reviewing their compliance processes now to ensure they meet the new standards. Yesterday our team visited STREAT, a social enterprise café in Collingwood that provides training and employment pathways for young people facing barriers—including refugee and humanitarian entrants, young people with experience in the justice system, and those at risk of homelessness. We loved sitting in their courtyard and chatting about social procurement to figure out the ways that we can work to deliver more impact in 2025. By choosing to support organisations like STREAT, we’re reinforcing our values and helping to create real opportunities for social impact through the power of purchasing and procurement. A great coffee with an even greater purpose! ☕ Diem (Yim) Huynh & Pina Setaro #SocialProcurement #ImpactThroughProcurement #SocialEnterprise #SustainableBusiness #STREAT #ProcurementForGood #SedoGroup

Want to win Federal Government Contracts in 2025? Here’s What You Need to Know... The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) is making key changes to the Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP) to ensure real economic benefits for First Nations businesses and tighten eligibility rules. If you're bidding for federal government contracts, these updates could impact your procurement strategy. Key Changes: ✅ Higher Indigenous Procurement Targets – From July 2025, the Government will increase its Indigenous procurement target to 3%, rising to 4% by 2030. ✅ Stronger Ownership Requirements – From July 2026, businesses must be at least 51% First Nations-owned and controlled (or registered with ORIC) to qualify for IPP contracts. ✅ Greater Transparency – New measures will improve reporting on Indigenous participation in major contracts, holding suppliers accountable. ✅ Cracking Down on ‘Black Cladding’ – Tougher regulations will prevent businesses from falsely claiming Indigenous ownership to secure contracts. With billions in federal procurement spending, these changes will shape how businesses engage with government tenders. #FederalProcurement #GovernmentTenders #IndigenousProcurement #SocialProcurement #FirstNationsBusiness #SedoGroup #ProcurementStrategy
