Victoria’s Supplier Code of Conduct is Changing... From 1 April 2025, all suppliers working with the Victorian Government must comply with the revised Supplier Code of Conduct, which introduces mandatory minimum ethical standards. These updates place a stronger focus on ethics, labour rights, sustainability, and governance, making compliance essential for securing and retaining government contracts. What’s Changing? 1️⃣ The revised Code establishes mandatory ethical standards that all suppliers must meet. 2️⃣ Updated contract clauses will reinforce compliance, making adherence a contractual obligation. 3️⃣ Stricter compliance requirements mean businesses must prioritise transparency, risk management, and ethical practices to remain competitive. Yesterday our team visited STREAT, a social enterprise café in Collingwood that provides training and employment pathways for young people facing barriers—including refugee and humanitarian entrants, young people with experience in the justice system, and those at risk of homelessness. The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) is making key changes to the Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP) to ensure real economic benefits for First Nations businesses and tighten eligibility rules.
