We’re thrilled to share the progress at Farmhouse Rd Westmead where 397 build-to-rent apartments are taking shape. This project is a testament to the power of partnerships and the shared commitment between our partners Deicorp and AXA Investment Managers Alts to creating well-located, affordable and high-quality housing. A big thank you to Deicorp for showcasing their update of the site which is buzzing with activity. Jump forms, brickwork and prefabricated bathroom pods are all advancing rapidly. With practical completion expected in the second half of next year, we look forward to sharing more milestones as this exciting project progresses. #GreatPlaces #ThrivingPeople #ConnectedCommunities #SocialHousing #AffordableHousing #CommunityHousing #Leadership #Partnerships #BTR #Collaboration

It’s not every day SGCH has a customer turn 100! We were privileged to join in the celebrations for Shirley, who still lives independently at our Greenway property – it has been her home since 1959. A witness to the Harbour Bridge being opened, she has seen profound change at Greenway and beyond. “My mother and I moved in because our home was being demolished,” she says. “Greenway was nice and new then, and we were happy to have somewhere to move to, even if was just one bedroom that we shared.”      From the unit she has now, Shirley enjoys a view of the harbour and says she appreciates it every day. “I love to see the big cruise ships come in and go out.”      One of the things she likes most about Greenway is her neighbours. “I am lucky to have had so many good neighbours over the years,” she says. On the secret to reaching 100, Shirley has this to share: “I never married, never had children!” She also had some good old-fashioned sibling rivalry to spur her on. “I always wanted to be the first in my family to get to 100. My sister made it to two months before her 100th birthday, she almost beat me to it. I woke up this morning and I thought, 'well, I did it!’”     At SGCH, we work hard to place our customers at the heart of everything we do and we're proud of the strong partnerships that make Greenway the thriving community it is today.    #greatplaces #thrivingpeople #connectedcommunities #communityhousing

SGCH has had a wonderful year creating great places, thriving people, connected communities. We presented our results and 2024 Annual Report to our Annual General Meeting: https://bit.ly/4fFQvR3 But the star of the show was Aisea, a 92-year-old resident of our Riverwood community whose enthusiasm for life is infectious. Aisea held court after the formalities concluded, showing why he and his wife Veronika were the focus of ‘Limitless with Chris Hemsworth’ – a documentary series that aims to unlock the mysteries of longevity. Our Acting CEO, Joe Achmar, joined an engaging panel at the Property Council of Australia's Social and Affordable Housing Lunch, where leaders came together to discuss the transformative $6.6 billion NSW Budget investment set to deliver over 8,400 new homes across the state.   Joe took to the stage with experts from across the sector, including Allison Heller (Director, Urbis), Fiona Jones (Development Director, Stockland) and Richard Horne (Director, Halesmith Property), exploring the role of institutional capital in social housing, the evolving landscape of the community housing sector and what makes a strong community housing provider a trusted partner. An event highlight was the keynote address by Rebecca Pinkstone (CEO, Homes NSW), who offered insights into the bold public housing initiatives driving this investment. We’re proud to be part of this important conversation and to continue working toward building homes and communities that make a lasting impact. #GreatPlaces #ThrivingPeople #ConnectedCommunities #SocialHousing #AffordableHousing #CommunityHousing #Leadership #Partnerships #Collaboration

The PowerHousing Member Exchange Conference was in full swing in Canberra today, with sessions and discussions addressing this year’s theme: unlocking the housing challenge. Our Acting Group CEO, Joe Achmar, led a panel discussion on activating government partnerships and was joined by an impressive lineup of sector experts: Leonie King (CEO, City West Housing), Chris Smith GAICD (CEO, Foundation Housing WA), Andrew Hannan (CEO, Community Housing Canberra), and Duncan Higgons (Director of Housing, PHS Community Services, Vancouver). The session covered topics ranging from effective collaboration with government partners to the need for – and importance of - policy certainty. A big thank you to PowerHousing Australia for the opportunity to contribute to such an insightful conversation. #GreatPlaces #ThrivingPeople #ConnectedCommunities

It was great to see so many fantastic leaders at the Living Sectors Summit, including our own Group Executive, Homes, Andrew Brooks who brought valuable insights to the panel discussion on investing into the Australian affordable housing market. Valued SGCH partners Peter Johnston, Managing Director of Lighthouse Infrastructure and Antoine Mesnage, Head of Australia for AXA Investment Managers Alts joined Andrew to highlight the value of creating viable, scalable affordable housing investments. The panel was expertly facilitated by Brookfield Asset Management's Senior Vice President Pretar Caroline Harris. SGCH has a deliberate, achievable strategy to create more housing and the experience and track record to work with governments and bring capital and capability to create great places, thriving people and connected communities. #LSS24 #GreatPlaces #ThrivingPeople #ConnectedCommunities #SocialHousing #AffordableHousing #BTR
