🎄🌿 'Tis the season to celebrate our Bush Regeneration team! 🎉🌱 From planting native species to tackling weeds and restoring natural habitats, their hard work keeps Shellharbour’s environment thriving. This season alone, they’ve successfully planted 60,000 local native plants across Shellharbour Beach South and Shellharbour Beach North as part of a funded project to restore and rehabilitate our beach dunes. 🌳 The project, spanning two years, focused on reducing weed coverage to less than 25% across both sites and replicating the natural dune vegetation system. Seeds were collected from the local environment and lovingly grown at the Council Nursery, creating a diverse mix of coastal species—from ground covers and shrubs to canopy plants. This week, we celebrated the planting of the final 1,000 tubestock! 🌱 While this milestone is a huge achievement, our work doesn’t stop here. These areas will continue to be managed and maintained, ensuring Shellharbour’s coastal flora and fauna flourish for years to come. 🌊💚 #BushRegen #Teamwork #ShellharbourEnvironment #ProtectOurBeaches
