About us
The Shire of Leonora is a local government area in the Northern Goldfields of Western Australia, comprising the towns of Leonora and Leinster. Leonora was established in 1896; our town centre boasts historical buildings and modern facilities, while the award winning Gwalia ghost town, Gwalia museum, and Hoover House, are just a few kilometres away. The township of Leinster lies 135km north of Leonora, and is often described as an oasis in the desert.
