  • At Siniat we are passionate about offering #sustainable #solutions to our customers so that we can reduce the environmental impact of the #construction industry together. Siniat's Opt2Act program is a #simple and #cost-effective way to reduce the upfront #carbon of a build by up to 7%. Under the opt-in program we can supply a wide range of our products carbon neutral, certified by Climate Active. How do we do it? Firstly we reduce the scope 1,2 and 3 #emissions associated with our products during their life cycle. Then we invest in quality #offsets to deliver carbon neutral products to customers who opt in for the program. In this video Siniat's National Architectural Manager Nazli Almasirad explains how it works: 👇👇 More questions? • Inclement weather slowing you down? Keep dry and keep going with Weather Defence™! Weather Defence is a rigid air barrier board proudly manufactured by Siniat in Australia. It is mainly used in ventilated #facade systems. One of the benefits of Weather Defence is that it provides the quickest way to a #weathertight structure. Once installed it offers up to 12 months exposure to the elements, enabling internal trades to get on with the job even when the weather turns bad. This can help avoid delays and save builders and contractors valuable time on site. ☔☔ Weather Defence is classified as vapour permeable Class 4 and is recommended for use in Climate Zones 2 to 8. • According to the National Construction Code (#NCC), building materials used as internal linings need to comply with set #fire #hazard properties. Compliance with the requirements helps to minimise rapid fire and smoke spread in buildings during a fire to ensure the safe and timely evacuation of occupants. In 2019, the NCC introduced tougher test requirements for fire hazard properties to not only stipulate what the fire hazard properties of materials must be, but also how these properties are to be determined by stringent fire testing. This means that having a report or certificate that indicates satisfactory fire hazard properties for a wall or ceiling lining may not be enough to meet the requirements of the NCC. It’s also important to check that these properties were determined by means of the tests that comply with the relevant Australian Standards. In this blog we take a look at group numbers and non-combustibility, and what the relevant tests are to determine these ratings. https://hubs.li/Q02Zv13k0 Interested in finding out more? • The primary purpose of #seismic #design is to ensure the safety and well-being of building occupants during #earthquakes. While much attention is typically given to the structural elements of a building, it is crucial not to overlook the significance of seismic design for non-structural elements. The seismic design of ceilings is a regulatory requirement in Australia. Seismic design also has significant sustainable benefits. In this blog we explore four of them: https://hubs.li/Q02ZtXW10 #inspiringwaysofliving #letsbuildbettertogether

  • The Summer issue of the AWCI - Australia & New Zealand’s 'On the Surface' #magazine is out, and the featured project in this issue is particularly exciting! Noel Kaine's Kaine's Plastering in Tasmania used Siniat’s Opal board throughout this impressive residential project, dubbed South Terrace House. Opal was chosen for its #acoustic rating, smooth surface finish and impact resistance. Opal’s smooth surface helped the plasterers to achieve a Level 5 finish, which was applied to the home theatre walls, main living area, bedroom and hallway ceilings. Siniat’s Createx acoustic boards were also used on the ceiling of the home theatre to improve noise absorption and to provide a stunning visual effect. This issue of the magazine also provides great coverage of the AWCI National Conference that took place on the Gold Coast early in November, and where Siniat was a Diamond Sponsor.
