Sobah is more than just a cracking brew—we’re here to change the way Aussies think about drinking. As Australia’s first non-alcoholic craft beer, we’ve built Sobah around a simple but powerful idea: giving you a better choice to stay present, connected, and mindful while still knocking back a top-notch beer. Our founder, Dr. Clinton Schultz, a proud Gamilaraay man and psychologist, has a personal story behind Sobah. After Clinton gave up alcohol in 2014, he didn’t want to give up the taste of a good beer, but he quickly realised there weren’t many options out there. So, Sobah was born—not to tell anyone what to do, but to break down the stigma around socialising sober and bring balance into the mix. It's about connecting, staying true to yourself, and enjoying life’s moments, without the need for booze. Sobah's range of brews are made with native Aussie ingredients (with the exception of Tropical Lager) bringing you flavours that not only taste unreal but also support and promote sustainable agriculture and First Nations culture. We're proud to be a purpose-driven mob that backs local communities, champions sustainability, and helps shift how Australia thinks about drinking—one cold tinnie at a time. Founders and husband-wife team, Dr Clinton Schultz and Lozen McDiarmid brought about Sobah in 2017 as Australia's first non-alcoholic beer brand which became Australia's first dedicated non-alcoholic brewery in 2023 when the couple opened the doors of our new home at Burleigh Heads. Eighteen months later, the not-so-easy decision has been made to return to contract brewing in 2025 and sell the facility at Burleigh Heads. With the current cost of living crisis and many other factors facing the independent beverages industry and hospitality business in Australia, we're taking the path to downsize to protect the company. All options are on the table at present. Any interested parties are asked to contact Clinton directly to discuss.
