As a part of my work at Social Agility I read a lot of articles to stay up to date with our clients, their needs and pain points. I came across this one and couldn't quite believe what I was reading. https://lnkd.in/gxHZ3Zgm Apparently, 27% of senior leaders wouldn't hire entry-level employees like me?! That's over a 1/4...Ouch. 🤕 I get my results for uni next week and I'm excited to move into my career after finishing a 4 year long degree 🎓 . However this article makes me feel like that even with a degree under my belt (hopefully) I'm still not equipped with the skills needed to enter the workforce. 🤯 We new grads (or soon to be) might not have all the answers right away. But, is it really fair to blame us for a lack of experience? 🤷♀️ ➡️ The skills gap is real...We need support and development, not just criticism. Instead of writing us off, why not invest in training and mentoring programs that actually help us grow? One thing I've noticed about Gen Z in the workplace? We're just not willing to settle for a burnout-inducing environment. 😵💫 Could this be causing resentment from other generations? 🤔 I'm fortunate to work at a place that values its employees and my development, but I know that's not the norm. More companies need to step up and give young professionals the tools they need to succeed. Gen Z is the future of the workforce.
