The Carers Foundation held Australia’s Biggest Carers Christmas Lunch yesterday at Victoria Park in Brisbane. Over 280 unpaid carers, their families, and supporters attended this brilliant event which sold out early. Mike Arieni presented the Josh Arieni Unsung Hero Legacy gifts, in memory of his son Josh, who was also an unpaid carer before his passing in 2020. The recipients of the gifts were selected from many deserving unpaid carers who dedicate their lives to caring for their family members. Many unpaid carers provide round-the-clock care. The gifts chosen by those who received them, provide much-needed happiness and joy to these fantastic people who tirelessly devote their lives to caring for their loved ones. There are over 3 million carers in Australia, and many more are not officially registered.
