A hot topic of late has been Hyper-Converged Infrastructure. Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) is a software-defined IT infrastructure that virtualises all of the elements of conventional "hardware-defined" systems. HCI includes virtualised computing, software-defined storage, virtualised networking and typically runs on commercial off-the-shelf servers. The potential impact of the hyper-converged infrastructure is that companies will no longer need to rely on different computer and storage systems. HCI is likely to further simplify management and increase resource-utilisation rates. Do you have a current cyber security policy that is distributed and accessible to all staff? 2. Do you have a current password policy to encourage responsible password practices and enforce the minimum password requirements? 3. Do you enforce Multi-factor Authentication when accessing important data repositories? 4. Do you patch security vulnerabilities in IT systems within 14 days? 5. Do you have current business continuity plans, disaster recovery plans and incident management plans in place? 6. Do you provide social engineering, fraud and phishing security training to staff? 7. Are your firewalls and security software set up with intrusion prevention system, intrusion detection system and data loss policies? 8. Do you routinely back up critical systems and files to a secondary storage environment? How did you do?
