Space Domain Awareness (SDA) through Passive Radio Frequency (RF) profiling and analysis.

About us

CyberOps proudly introduces SpaceIQ, a unique space object tracking solution tailored for Space Situation Awareness (SSA) requirements. This system has been developed from an operator and analysts perspective and embodies innovation, resilient architecture, and enterprise design. Built on a network of PassiveRF sensors, SpaceIQ ensures availability, security, and operational efficiency across the vast and challenging Space industry. The SpaceIQ platform has been established to operate, manage, and collect data from a diverse range of Passive Radio Frequency (RF) sensors or is able to connect to existing sensors. It processes, retrieves and collates sensor data from various space and terrestrial transmitting objects into a central data lake for further analysis and correlation. At the heart of SpaceIQ exists a centralised control and management system, connected to a range of single-site or distributed/mobile and multi-frequency sensors. The centralised platform has been built to accommodate multiple operational roles, flexible browsers, data lakes, or direct system-to-system web services integration. The SpaaceIQ platform supports a range of Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and terrestrial signal objectives, including: • Detection • Tracking • Identifying, and • Characterising. The SpaceIQ team understands that a wide range of sensor technologies is necessary to understand space and ground objects, as each has its own strengths and weaknesses when considering the above pillars and the operational environmental conditions. The platform supports many types of local and distributed Passive RF sensors and sensor networks but has been developed as an enterprise system to allow many other passive and active sensor types to be integrated.

  • The Mechanics of Passive RF for Space Situational Awareness Understanding the technology behind Passive RF gives us insight into why it’s the backbone of modern Space Domain Awareness (SDA). As space threats grow, so does the need for reliable, scalable, and undetectable surveillance solutions. Passive RF sensors receive and analyse signals transmitted by satellites. Our SpaceIQ platform fuses this data from geographically distributed sensors, using time-differenced and frequency-differenced arrival (TDOA/FDOA) techniques to accurately geolocate space objects. This data provides unparalleled insight into the position and behavior of satellites. With advanced filtering and AI-driven analytics, SpaceIQ ensures that high-quality data is always available for decision-makers. This technical edge allows Australia to operate securely and effectively in the contested space domain. The CyberOps’ SpaceIQ platform transforms complex signal data into actionable intelligence, ensuring Australia remains at the forefront of space security. #SpaceSituationalAwareness #PassiveRF #SpaceDomainAwareness #SpaceSecurity CyberOps Pty Ltd

  • Commercial Benefits of Passive RF: Supporting Critical Infrastructure with SpaceIQ Beyond defense, the deployment of Passive RF sensors offers extensive benefits to commercial sectors. The SpaceIQ platform's data fusion capabilities allow for effective monitoring of satellites used for communication, positioning, and critical infrastructure. By keeping track of satellite transmissions and detecting signal interference, the system ensures higher reliability for services essential to industries such as transportation, energy, and telecommunications. With a growing number of satellites in orbit, the ability to maintain uninterrupted operations in space has become vital, and SpaceIQ's role in achieving this objective demonstrates Australia's leadership in the emerging space economy. The implementation of Passive RF for Space Domain Awareness in Australia represents a forward-thinking approach to addressing emerging challenges in space. Through leveraging a network of sensors managed by the SpaceIQ platform, the initiative aims to protect space assets, deter adversaries, and support allied partnerships in maintaining secure space environments. The system also offers commercial benefits by enhancing communication reliability, protecting critical infrastructure, and ensuring satellite safety, all of which are crucial as space becomes an increasingly congested and contested domain. This capability aligns with Australia’s strategic objectives of shaping, deterring, and responding effectively in space operations. #SpaceDomainAwareness #PassiveRF

  • SpaceIQ and the Future of Space Surveillance - Why Passive RF Matters As Australia continues to expand its capabilities in the space domain, we at CyberOps are excited to share how our SpaceIQ platform and Passive RF sensors are shaping the future of space surveillance and safety. What sets Passive RF apart from traditional methods? Passive RF is a non-intrusive, stealthy method for monitoring space. Unlike radar or laser sensors that emit signals, Passive RF listens to the transmissions already in place. This means lower operational costs, energy savings, and the ability to remain undetected while gathering vital information. SpaceIQ uses a network of Passive RF sensors across Australia to track space objects, characterise unknown signals, and even detect new transmitting objects. As the number of space objects grows, so does the need for sophisticated monitoring. Our commitment to using machine learning and big data processing helps ensure that SpaceIQ will remain at the cutting edge of space domain awareness. Whether it’s ensuring the safety of satellite communications or monitoring international space activity, CyberOps is committed to keeping Australia at the forefront of space safety and innovation. #SpaceCyber #SDA

    • SpaceIQ and the Future of Space Surveillance—Why Passive RF Matters
  • Enhancing Australia's Space Domain Awareness with Passive RF Technology We are continuing to evolve our platforms and techniques to play a pivotal role in enhancing Australia's Space Domain Awareness (SDA) with the ongoing innovation of the SpaceIQ platform and Passive RF sensor technology. This Australian sovereign capability aims to provide real-time insight into space activities, ensuring a secure environment for both Defence and commercial stakeholders. What makes Passive RF special? - Unlike active radar systems, which require the emission of signals to track objects, Passive RF relies purely on receiving signals already transmitted by satellites and other space objects. This makes it a cost-effective, energy-efficient, and stealthy approach for monitoring space activities. CyberOps SpaceIQ collects data from sensors strategically deployed across Australia, providing coverage for tracking, identifying, and characterising space objects. These capabilities make the platform particularly powerful in enhancing national security while also supporting civil and commercial operations reliant on safe and stable space activities. Stay tuned as we continue to provide updates on our progress in safeguarding Australia’s space interests. #SpaceCyber #SpaceDomainAwareness
