Das Studer Cables Montageteam stellte sich einer neuen Herausforderung: die Erschliessung des Wasserkraftwerks Ceresa 1 zur Talstation Tarnolgio. Das Kraftwerk liegt auf über 2000 M.ü.M. und erforderte das Einziehen unseres BETApower® XDALZ-Z Mittelspannungskabels über 2000 Meter mit 800 Meter Höhenunterschied und 40 % Geländeneigung. Da das Gelände für Fahrzeuge unzugänglich ist, konnten die Kabelschächte nur zu Fuss erreicht werden. Gemeinsam mit der Cooperativa Elettrica di Faido CEF entwickelte unser Team ein Konzept, um den Kabelzug in drei Etappen durchzuführen und so die Einzugskräfte zu minimieren.   Wir danken der Cooperativa Elettrica di Faido für den spannenden Auftrag und die wertschätzende, kameradschaftliche und lösungsorientierte Zusammenarbeit unter Montageprofis. Situated at over 2000 meters above sea level, this project required pulling our BETApower® XDALZ-Z medium voltage cable over a 2000 meter distance, with an 800 meter elevation gain and a 40% slope. Due to the terrain being inaccessible by vehicles, the cable ducts could only be reached on foot. Together with Cooperativa Elettrica di Faido CEF, our team developed a concept to pull the cable in three stages, thereby minimizing the pulling forces required.   We would like to thank Cooperativa Elettrica di Faido for the exciting project and for their appreciative, collegial, and solution-oriented collaboration among installation professionals. ↗ Anamet Europe's TECH Thursday ↙   🔹 Understanding the ANATOMY of Metal Flexible Conduits 🔹   When it comes to metal flexible conduits, each has a unique profile that defines its essential characteristics, especially those with a metal core. Among the various designs available, three primary profiles stand out for our Anaconda flexible conduits: the square lock, (fully) interlock, and angle lock. Of these, the square lock design is our most widely used due to its versatility and strength.   So, how is the square lock design made? It begins with a metal strip, carefully measured for width and thickness. This strip goes through a winding machine and passes over four profiling rollers, each bending it 90 degrees to form a distinctive flat, open “S” shape. Next, guiding rollers strategically out of alignment rotate and guide this “S” shaped strip into a rotating drum, where it locks into itself to form a durable, flexible structure.   The profile design, combined with precise strip dimensions, gives the flexible conduit its unique qualities, including flexibility, compression resistance, impact resistance, and tensile strength. For instance, a thicker strip yields a stronger conduit, while a wider strip allows greater flexibility adjustments.
