Stride towards a better tomorrow with Australia’s leading mental health charity

About us

We’re 100% dedicated to providing services that improve the lifelong mental health of children, young people and adults – and help people with complex needs live better. Although Stride began 116 years ago simply as a way to help people find a place to live and work, we’re now leaders in early intervention, prevention and treatment of complex mental health conditions. We are continuing to build on the work we do with families and communities to roll out more evidence-based services across Australia. Today Stride employs nearly 800 staff providing mental health services for 18,000 Australians in more than 65 locations. We proudly operate a variety of services including Safe Spaces, Safe Havens, Head to Health and headspace centres throughout the eastern seaboard. In addition to this we provide NDIS Support Coordination, Therapeutic Supports, Recovery Coaching, Supported Independent Living services and a range of complex and higher risk NDIS services.

  • Celebrating 8 years of Likemind Orange. This week we had the privilege of celebrating eight years of LikeMind Orange supporting the local community with accessible, integrated mental health care. The event brought together community members, local leaders like Tony Mileto, and supporters to recognise the importance of mental health services in regional areas. It was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the impact LikeMind Orange has had, the partnerships that strengthen its work, and the continued need for mental health support in the region. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to the dedicated team behind LikeMind Orange. Here’s to many more years of making a difference. With: Lacey Moon, Anne Bowman, Allie Burgess, & Orange Aboriginal Medical Service (OAMS)

  • Just a week ago, our Community Engagement Coordinator Christina Dendrinos, Clinical Manager Ed Lewin, and Centre Manager Seema were honoured to receive an award from NSW Premier Chris Minns, celebrating 10 years of headspace Hurstville’s dedicated service to the community. This milestone reflects the hard work and dedication of our amazing team in supporting youth and families. We’re deeply grateful for this recognition and look forward to many more years of making a difference. When accepting the award, the honorable Chris Minns (Kogarah- Premier) shared these words with us: “I take this opportunity to recognise the team at headspace Hurstville for reaching a significant milestone, having recently celebrated their 10-year anniversary. headspace Hurstville provides vital mental health services that are both free and easily accessible for young adolescents aged 12-25 across the St George Area. Over the past decade, thousands of young people have benefitted from the care and expert support provided by the dedicated staff at headspace. Their commitment to the wellbeing of adolescents and young adults have provided a safe space for those facing challenges with mental health, emotional well-being and more. This milestone is a testament to the dedication, professionalism and empathy of the entire headspace Hurstville team. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the entire team for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to mental health. I am confident that headspace Hurstville will continue to make a positive impact in the lives of young people for many years to come.”
