Celebrating NT’s Young Australian of the Year – Nilesh Dilushan (Nil)! 🥳 Study NT Ambassador Alumni, Nilesh (Nil), was awarded the 2025 NT Young Australian of the Year and attended the awards ceremony in Canberra earlier this year. 🏆 Nil’s journey began six years ago when he arrived in the NT as a young dreamer with a suitcase full of hopes. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to create positive change through volunteering and community service. Through initiatives like Kindness Shake and Young Professional Rotaract Northern Territory, he has helped upskill young people, create employment pathways, and break down barriers. 👏👏 Reflecting on this incredible achievement, Nil shares: "I feel responsible. Responsible for inspiring, empowering, and transforming more young leaders from our local communities." From Australia's most Northern Capital to the Nation’s Capital, Nil’s story is proof that ordinary people with extraordinary determination have the power to make a real difference. Congratulations, Nil! We are super proud of you and can’t wait to see what’s next. 🤩🎉 #NTYoungAustralianOfTheYear #AustralianoftheYearAwards #leadership #community #ntaustralia #makingadifference

Our 2025 Student Ambassadors got together last week to attend their very first professional development session! 🥳 The theme of this session was "How to develop your personal brand as a Study NT Ambassador”, which included various activities that the Ambassadors participated in. They also heard from our 2024 Ambassador Alumni, Sandhya sigdel, Kathryn Vera Cruz and Maged Esmat, who shared their learnings and experiences from last year’s program. The session concluded with a workshop where they worked together to brainstorm their brands and values as Ambassadors and developed an elevator pitch about themselves. 📝🙋♂️ A big thank you to our 2024 Ambassador Alumni for joining us and congratulations to our 2025 Study NT Ambassadors! We wish them every success over the next 10 months as they embark on this exciting journey of personal and professional growth. 🤩🎉 #internationalstudents #StudentAmbassadors #StudentSuccess #northernterritory #StudyNT #StudyAustralia

The study requirements for Temporary Graduate visas (TGV) have changed for Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma holders. 👩🎓 Graduate Certificates no longer meet the study requirements for a TGV. While you can still complete a Graduate Certificate, it cannot be used as an eligible qualification to apply for a TGV. You can use a Graduate Diploma as an eligible qualification for the TGV if: ➡️ It follows your Australian-awarded Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate (e.g. PhD) degree and is related to that qualification’s field of study; and ➡️ You studied your Graduate Diploma program in the same or next academic year as the Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate (e.g. PhD) degree you completed. 📣 Important changes to onshore Student visa applications from 1 January 2025. If you reside in Australia and are applying for a Student visa on or after 1 January 2025, you must include a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) when submitting your application. 📄 Without a CoE, your application will be considered invalid. This does not affect applicants who lodged their visa application before 1 January 2025 using only a Letter of Offer from an education provider.
