  • 📢 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗼𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 📢 Great news for those with study or training loans! The government has passed new legislation changing how annual indexation is calculated. Here’s what you need to know: ✅ 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀: • Indexation will now use the lower of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) or the Wage Price Index (WPI). • This change is backdated to apply from 1 June 2023. 📉 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀: • 1 June 2023: 3.2% (down from 7.1%) • 1 June 2024: 4% (down from 4.7%) 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁? • The ATO is recrediting excess indexation amounts directly to affected loans. • If your loan is in credit after the adjustment, the surplus will transfer to your Income Tax account, offset other debts (if applicable), and any remaining balance will be refunded to your nominated bank account. • Refund Timeline: Most adjustments will be completed by January 2025, but complex cases may take longer. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗼: • Check and update your bank account details with the ATO to avoid delays in receiving refunds. • If a refund is sent to our agent account, we’ll reconcile and pass it on to you promptly. We recommend reviewing your account details or reaching out to us for assistance. For more information, visit ato.gov.au/studyloansnew. We’re here to help you navigate these changes! 💡
