Since energising our first solar farm at Bowman’s in 2021, we’ve seen considerable advancements in solar technology that have allowed us to enhance energy output and system efficiencies. We’re committed to working with innovative solar technology providers to ensure optimal long-term energy generation, and one of the key integrations has been the addition of bifacial solar panels. These advanced panels capture sunlight on both the front and rear sides, increasing energy yield from reflected light. Paired with Nextracker Inc. technology, our panels actively track the sun's movement across the sky, maximising light absorption throughout the day. Last week our General Manager Justin Parker, Finance Manager Laura Cartland and Asset Manager SIVA HEMANTH attended Australia’s largest clean energy event, All Energy Australia Conference in Melbourne. One of the key benefits battery energy storage systems (BESS) can bring to Australia’s energy transition, is their ability to improve energy efficiency. By storing excess energy during periods of low demand or high energy generation, they help address the intermittency issues associated with renewable energy sources like wind and solar, providing a stable energy supply to key locations, during periods of high demand or low generation. This reduces energy losses that typically occur during long-distance transmission and distribution.
