St Vincent de Paul Society Housing Australia are providers of social and affordable housing and associated community services. Formerly known as Amélie Housing, SVdP Housing partners with the Society of St Vincent De Paul and other like minded organisations to ensure appropriate support and positive outcomes for the most disadvantaged members of our community. SVdP Housing recognises the role of the home in ensuring personal security and offers a hand up to those experiencing homelessness and housing need.

  • Our CEO, The Hon Graham West on the importance of planning public open spaces, when increasing density in an effort to address the housing crisis.

    “We need some increases in density. We can't do that density though, at the expense of public open space.” Increasing density has been proposed as a means to address the current housing crisis, but as The Hon Graham West, St Vincent de Paul Housing CEO, referenced at our recent social justice forum, we should not view it as a silver bullet to one of the great challenges of our time. After eight years of dedicated service as State Manager, Roman Kowalczyk will be moving into the corporate role of Chief Operations Officer within St Vincent de Paul Society Housing Australia (Amélie Housing). We congratulate Roman on this well-deserved appointment and thank him for his exceptional leadership and contributions. We are also excited to announce that Jonathon Armstrong will assume the role of State Manager for South Australia. Jonathon has been an integral part of Amélie Housing for over eight years and brings a wealth of experience in the community housing sector. Both appointments will take effect on Monday 3 June 2024. Your proven property maintenance expertise, great attention to detail and good organisational skills will be crucial to this role. THE ASSET COORDINATOR WILL: - Ensure effective end-to-end delivery of repairs and maintenance for Responsive, Planned and Cyclical Programs - Oversee contracts administration in accordance with supplier agreements - Conduct regular audit and quality inspections - Respond to tenant maintenance enquiries and complaints; process requests for alterations and modifications as needed - Manage out-of-hours emergency and maintenance contractors - On a weekly and monthly basis, report on all work orders, complaint escalations and active projects - Assist in ad hoc projects as required - Support the Asset Manager in delivering Strategic Outcomes.
